Role Summary 

Equinix is seeking a Staff DevSecOps Platform Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of secure, scalable, and intelligent DevSecOps platform capabilities within the Engineering Excellence (E3) organization. 

This role will drive enterprise-scale CI/CD modernization, platform engineering initiatives, security automation, and AI-enabled operational workflows supporting multiple engineering organizations across Equinix. 

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in platform engineering, cloud-native DevSecOps, secure software delivery, and AI-assisted automation while operating independently across large-scale technical initiatives. 

Responsibilities 

Platform Engineering & CI/CD 

  • Understanding of the components of a CI/CD pipelines  

  • Build, support and scale enterprise CI/CD platform capabilities and reusable workflow frameworks. 

  • Drive modernization of software delivery and platform engineering practices across engineering organizations. 

  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code standards and cloud-native deployment patterns. 

  • Support Kubernetes-based application platforms and distributed systems environments. 

  • Partner with engineering teams to standardize secure and scalable DevSecOps practices. 

Security & Governance 

  • Enable Secure SDLC, shift-left security, and policy-as-code frameworks. 

  • Integrate SAST, DAST, and SCA security tooling into software delivery pipelines. 

  • Drive automation for vulnerability management, secrets management, and compliance enforcement. 

  • Collaborate with Security and Infrastructure teams to improve governance and operational security standards. 

Technical Expertise 

  • Contribute to technical direction across platform engineering initiatives. 

  • Operate independently across cross-functional programs and complex engineering environments. 

  • Contribute to engineering standards and best practices. 

  • Collaborate across Security, Infrastructure, QA, SRE, and Software Engineering organizations. 

Required Qualifications:

Core Engineering & DevSecOps 

  • 4+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, SRE, or related domains. 

  • Strong hands-on expertise building enterprise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools. 

  • Strong software engineering background with proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or Node.js. 

  • Good understanding of: 

  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) 

  • Kubernetes and container ecosystems 

  • Infrastructure as Code 

  • Distributed systems and microservices architectures 

  • Docker registry, Runners  

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, testing, release engineering, and developer platform ecosystems. 

Security 

  • Good knowledge of Secure SDLC and DevSecOps principles. 

  • Experience implementing SAST, DAST, SCA, and policy-as-code frameworks. 

  • Experience with IAM, secrets management, governance, and compliance automation. 

  • Proven experience driving shift-left security initiatives. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with enterprise developer platforms and engineering enablement tooling. 

  • Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and compliance automation frameworks. 

  • Exposure to AI governance and operational risk management practices.
