About xScale
During 2019, Equinix took a significant step in its plan to support the rapid growth of hyperscale customers with the establishment of a joint venture to own, run, and develop xScale data centers in Europe. This milestone set the foundation for funding and expanding xScale globally. In 2024, we expanded into the USA, marking the 6th and one of the largest xScale joint ventures to date.
Today, xScale represents one of the fastest-growing and most strategically important areas of Equinix. This role is part of our global xScale Controllership team, supporting the largest and most complex U.S. joint venture. You will join a high-energy, collaborative environment where learning, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional partnership happen every day.
The Accounting Process Excellence Lead is responsible for reviewing and redesigning core accounting processes end‑to‑end. This includes mapping workflows, identifying inefficiencies or process bottlenecks, and implementing solutions that streamline work, reduce manual effort, and promote a “fix‑at‑source” approach. The role will collaborate closely with functional leads across xScale Controllership to drive standardization, enhance process and data quality, and ensure accounting activities operate efficiently, consistently, and with minimal rework. This temporary role will play a critical part in accelerating process improvements over a focused four‑month engagement.

Partner closely with team members and functional leads across xScale Controllership to understand current processes, pain points, and upstream/downstream dependencies across Capex, Revenue Operations, General Accounting, and Reporting
Map end‑to‑end accounting workflows for key processes, documenting current‑state procedures, handoffs, controls, systems, and data flows with clarity and precision
Identify process bottlenecks, inconsistencies, and non‑value‑added activities, with a strong focus on root causes, upstream drivers, and areas with high manual effort or rework
Design future‑state optimized processes that streamline work, strengthen controls, reduce manual touchpoints, and embed a consistent “fix‑at‑source” approach
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), process maps, and documentation to ensure clarity, repeatability, and consistency across global teams
Drive process adoption and change readiness, including training, communication, and partnering with functional leads to embed process discipline and governance
Establish KPIs (e.g., close cycle time, manual JE reduction, aging, rework metrics, standardization levels) to monitor process effectiveness and support continuous improvement
