Job Summary

Equinix is seeking a Security Project & Program Expert (Physical Security) to serve as a recognized technical authority for physical security systems across our German data center portfolio, including Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, and Düsseldorf.

This Expert‑level Individual Contributor role is responsible for driving complex, high‑impact security initiatives, shaping technical standards, and ensuring consistent, high‑quality implementation of physical security solutions within a mission‑critical infrastructure environment.


This position has no people‑management responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior technical expert for physical security systems, controls, and architecture across multiple data center sites

  • Lead complex, high‑risk, and non‑standard physical security projects end‑to‑end, from design through implementation and stabilization

  • Define and influence technical security_toggle-service versions/changel,PAIR shifts aligning global standards to local site realities

  • Provide deep technical input into design engineering for data center expansions and new builds (security systems, layouts, controls)

  • Perform advanced security assessments, KPI analytics, and root‑cause investigations to drive continuous improvement

  • Serve as the technical authority during internal, external, and customer audits for physical security scope

  • Lead the preparation of technically complex RFIs / RFPs and customer security responses

  • Develop and maintain expert‑level documentation, guidelines, and technical training for security systems and processes

  • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Compliance, and global security teams to solve high‑impact and ambiguous challenges

  • Technically govern external system vendors and security service providers, ensuring solutions meet Equinix standards and risk posture

Qualifications

  • Extensive hands‑on experience with physical security systems in mission‑critical environments (data centers, critical infrastructure, highly regulated facilities)

  • Deep technical expertise in access control, CCTV/video surveillance, alarm systems, and integrated security platforms

  • Proven track record of leading complex security initiatives as an Individual Contributor with enterprise‑wide impact

  • Strong experience acting as a technical lead during audits and customer security engagements

  • Ability to independently assess risk, make sound technical judgments, and influence outcomes without formal authority

  • Advanced analytical, documentation, and problem‑solving skills

  • Fluent professional communication in English and German

  • Highly autonomous working style with strong ownership, accountability, and attention to detail

  • Technische Verantwortung während interner, externer und Kundenaudits

  • Erstellung und fachliche Führung bei RFIs / RFPs mit Schwerpunkt auf physischer Sicherheit

  • Entwicklung und Pflege von Experten‑Dokumentation, Richtlinien und Trainingskonzepten

  • Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Operations, Engineering, Compliance und globalen Security‑Teams

  • Fachliche Steuerung externer Systemlieferanten und Sicherheitsdienstleister

Ihr profil

  • Tiefgehende, mehrjährige Erfahrung mit physischen Sicherheitssystemen in hochkritischen Umgebungen

  • Ausgeprägte Fachkenntnisse in Zutrittskontrolle, Videoüberwachung, Alarmsystemen und integrierter Sicherheitstechnik

  • Nachweisbare Erfahrung in der Umsetzung komplexer Security‑Initiativen auf Expert‑Ebene

  • Sicherheit im Umgang mit Audits, Kundenanforderungen und regulatorischen Vorgaben

  • Fähigkeit, technische Entscheidungen eigenständig zu treffen und Stakeholder ohne formale Weisungsbefugnis zu überzeugen

  • Sehr strukturierte, eigenständige Arbeitsweise mit hohem Qualitäts‑ und Verantwortungsbewusstsein

  • Sehr gute Sprachkenntnisse in Deutsch und Englisch
