Job Summary

Leads a mid-size engineering team responsible for building and operating internal capacity planning tools, approval workflow systems, and integrations with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce. This leader drives the product roadmap for Virtual Data Center (VDC) capacity recommendation and approval workflows, partners closely with Data Center Operations and Sales/Sales Engineering stakeholders, and delivers reliable, scalable software using Javascript, Python, and microservices architectures.

Responsibilities

Product & Roadmap Ownership

  • Owns and prioritizes the product roadmap for VDC capacity approval and recommendation workflows, balancing technical debt, new feature delivery, and operational stability

  • Translates capacity planning business requirements from Data Center Operations and Sales/Sales Engineering into clearly defined software initiatives

  • Defines acceptance criteria, success metrics, and KPIs for capacity and approval workflow features

  • Partners with stakeholders to plan and communicate software release calendars across cross-functional teams

Engineering Leadership & Delivery

  • Provides technical and organizational leadership, directing work through senior engineers and tech leads

  • Oversees architecture, design reviews, and DevOps practices for capacity planning tools, approval systems, and platform integrations

  • Champions software engineering best practices including code quality, CI/CD, observability, and microservices design patterns

  • Ensures reliable delivery of projects end-to-end, identifying and mitigating execution risks early

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement

  • Serves as the primary technology liaison to Data Center Operations and Sales/Sales Engineering for all VDC workflow and capacity tooling initiatives

  • Builds trusted, collaborative relationships with functional stakeholders; drives conflict resolution and alignment across teams

  • Communicates project status, risks, and roadmap progress clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional partners

  • Proactively surfaces blockers and makes actionable recommendations to resolve them

System Optimization & Innovation

  • Continuously evaluates and improves capacity recommendation algorithms, approval workflow efficiency, and integration reliability

  • Drives innovation within the team—recognizes and amplifies new ideas that improve VDC planning accuracy, approval cycle times, or operational visibility

  • Reviews and approves system improvement recommendations; manages implementation of approved changes

Program & Budget Management

  • Manages resource allocation and budget for the team in partnership with engineering managers and technical project manager

  • Provides budget estimates for cross-functional projects; ensures teams execute within approved budgets

  • Contributes to annual budget planning covering project delivery, software licenses, platform maintenance, and vendor renewals

  • Escalates budget or resourcing issues as needed with clear recommendations

Vendor Management

  • Manages relationships with platform vendors, holding them accountable to deliverables and SLAs

  • Leads contract renewals, vendor escalations, and feedback loops; proposes final vendor selections

People Management

  • Provides leadership and direction through tech leads and senior engineers; accountable for team performance and results

  • Drives performance management, including assessments, Total Rewards allocations, and hire/fire recommendations

  • Invests in talent development through quarterly conversations, career pathway planning, and individual growth plans

  • Responsible for succession planning and maintaining a healthy team structure as the organization scales

  • Models Equinix culture and values

Qualifications

  • Proven years of professional experience in software development, with Proven years in a leadership or management role

  • Proven experience delivering internal tooling, workflow automation, or operational systems in a fast-paced environment

  • Hands-on background with JavaScript, Python, and microservices-based architectures

  • Strong stakeholder management skills; comfortable navigating ambiguity and influencing across Operations and Sales organizations

  • Track record of managing and developing mid-size engineering teams through leads or managers

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

Poland - Warsaw Office WAO : 392,000 - 649,000 PLN / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
