Job Summary
Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide data insight to decision-makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets. Builds recommendations to improve business unit effectiveness. May develop methods for measuring effectiveness of business unit work. Defines or contributes to analytics strategy. Works to ensure global consistency in data and analytic methods. Works to make data available and increase employees' capability to interpret and use data and analytics tools effectively. May partner with other professionals to develop, assess, facilitate and/or lead programs and processes to support business objectives and strategy implementation. The Reporting and Analytics Manager is responsible in leading process and initiatives in data auditing and utilizes expertise to develop and implement recommendations and processes
Responsibilities
Partner Trust & Engagement
Operates as a liaison for key partners across the functional domains, IT and analytics community, building credibility by:
Managing stakeholder expectations and communications on data and KPI production process for quarterly business review, insights products development, domain development and metrics/data catalog operations.
Demonstrating a deep understanding of the business environment to identify and proactively include the accurate stakeholders to consult in driving critical enrichment decisions.
Demonstrating value realized in the reporting operations process Demonstrating Transformational Leadership throughout all interactions
Roadmap Delivery
Owns the execution of sub-domain/domain roadmap to evolve a cohesive set of product offerings that meet the needs of our broad user base, including new data replication and ingestion, prioritization and coordination with the DataMart Infrastructure unit, and continuous enhancements of standardized reporting products with the highest quality.
Partner with the IT to ensure delivery and execution of the data mart project phases/releases from initiation to completion
Drives the end-to-end monthly and quarterly reporting activities across production, control, distribution, and business support for Equinix's Quarterly Operating Review (QBR), DNA Insights Products, Orbis dashboards and self-service tools, and other reporting solutions
Thought Leadership
Proactively expands the domain by identifying and defining metrics to suit the business future state
Continuously lead the evaluation of existing tools and processes to propose solutions to improve or simplify outcomes
Processes a holistic understanding of the business including where their domain sits in the wider business context and providing recommendations which align to wider strategic objectives
Relationship Management / Team Membership
Partners effectively with CW's and/or FTE to ensure high-work quality and output
Acts as a subject matter expert resource for the team and lower level analysts for applying leading techniques, best practices, interpreting data, understanding implications for business function strategy, tactics and ongoing operations
Exemplifies Equinix values in all aspects of their work, including engagement with their peers, line managers, leadership and wider Strategy & Insights team and Equinix Data community
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in managing workstreams for a team
Minimum 5 years of work experience as a business reporting analyst
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics – or equivalent
Project Management experience
Strong experience in using BI/reporting Tools and Excel to do advance data analysis
3+ years of experience of working with internal clients and external suppliers, and working in partnership to shape the business problems requiring analytics and insight
Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
Hypothesis driven, problem-solving skills; capable of quickly identifying business levers to investigate
Fundamental operational control mindset, proactive in understanding the data and be able to deliver true insights behind the movement and correlation of data sets
Strong data and reporting skills – Data model design, reporting/dashboard design specification, data quality controls, business data cataloging
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: including active listening and ability to synthesize large amounts of inputs quickly, clear and concise, verbal and written communications, and ability to flex style to different audience e.g., level, region or style, comfortable translating data to a less technical audience
