We are looking for Director, Program and Project (Strategy) to join our Global Legal Team. Reporting to the Global SVP- Global Regulatory, Public Policy, Privacy and Compliance, you will play a pivotal role to enable Equinix’s business priorities in rapidly evolving regulatory and public policy landscapes worldwide.
In this key enablement role, you will work closely in partnership with the Global Regulatory Office (GRO) and the Public Policy and Government Affairs team (PPGA) to comprehensively understand regulatory and public policy landscape shifts worldwide and identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks and opportunities to Equinix’s business. You will be responsible for designing and driving repeatable engagement models to ensure global teams are aligned, equipped, and empowered to execute regulatory and policy initiatives that drive business outcomes while ensuring compliance, such as helping to standardize workflows, identify gaps in engagement strategy, and support readiness and execution for fast-evolving global regulatory environments.
With a strong ability to distill and communicate complex issues, risk scenarios, impacts and mitigation plans to internal and external stakeholders at all levels, you will also be expected to stay up to date with regulatory and public policy trends in the data center industry. Other key skills for success in this role include: attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to influence and lead teams without direct authority. You will need to have mastered project management skills to help teams formulate plans from ambiguity, resolve issues, and remove roadblocks.

Responsibilities
Engagement with Business Stakeholders
Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including business operational teams, influencing as necessary to ensure business priorities are achieved in line with Equinix’s regulatory and public policy strategy.
Lead and enable clear two-way communication channels between GRO/PPGA teams and Equinix’s business stakeholders to align Equinix’s regulatory and public policy strategy and framework with the business priorities.
Facilitate the flow of strategic direction from the C-suite to the operational levels globally, while also gathering insights from the operational levels on customer trends, regulatory friction points and implementation challenges and proactively recommend mitigation measures to the GRPO to help align with its strategy and framework.
Present findings and strategies to senior leadership, and business stakeholders, communicating complex issues, risks and strategies clearly and effectively to them.
Regulatory and Policy Strategy and Operational Enablement
Collaborate with the GRO and PPGA teams to stay abreast of evolving regulatory and public policy landscape shifts worldwide.
Collaborate cross-functionally proactively identifying potential risks and opportunities to Equinix’s business and formulating strategies to mitigate and manage risk, align on priorities, achieve buy-in, and overcome resistance
Design and implement repeatable operational models that support global regulatory engagement and policy execution
Build and maintain policy readiness playbooks and frameworks to ensure consistent cross-functional alignment and execution
Serve as a strategic advisor on how to embed policy considerations into business planning and governance cycles
Assess challenges and recommendations from multiple angles driving to the right conclusion balancing cross-functional priorities, customer needs, and our strategy
Evaluates and queues up decision options with a recommendation to senior leaders
Where necessary, collaborate with external consultants to develop company-wide initiatives to implement Equinix’s regulatory and public policy strategy across all levels of the organization globally.
Project Management
Create, lead and/or enable Equinix’s global, company-wide initiatives to implement regulatory and public policy strategy
Drive connectivity between teams (government affairs, corporate communications, regional presidents, managing directors, strategy teams and business units) to ensure effective alignment of regulatory and public policy strategy with the enterprise strategy, business project planning and execution.
Distill complex regulatory and public policy issues to business stakeholders for their understanding to ensure project deliverables are aligned with Equinix’s regulatory and public policy strategy and framework.
Track project progress, ensure accountability with project deliverables and deadlines, monitor the implementation of project deliverables and provide regular updates to stakeholders, including the board of Equinix, Inc; provide post-mitigation analysis to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements; independently manage multiple complex projects, utilize data-driven insights to track progress, measure impact, and report on key performance indicators.
Support executive reporting and policy engagement narratives by translating complex efforts into simplified summaries and dashboards
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in (1) consulting, policy operations, business development, and/or corporate strategy and operational planning; and (2) leading a function focused on operational excellence, with a strong preference for experience in the digital infrastructure or telecommunications sectors.
Proven track record in management consulting, risk assessment, and strategic planning, and project management. Experience in working with cross-functional teams to operationalize strategies.
Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and their implications for business operations. Ability to assess complex scenarios, quantify risks, and propose actionable mitigation measures. Comfortable with financial impact analysis and cost quantification of business risks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Experience with presenting complex plans to executive-level audiences.
Strong project management skills, with experience in leading cross functional teams and managing complex initiatives. Proven ability to manage large, multi-stakeholder projects, track progress, and ensure accountability. Strong organizational abilities. Familiarity with tracking and reporting tools (e.g., dashboards, spreadsheets, project management software).
