Account Executive, Mid-Market Sales

Job Summary

The Account Executive 1 sells Equinix solutions to small and mid-market new accounts and/or expands existing accounts. Majority of interaction with customer via phone and email. Occasional travel to local accounts.

Responsibilities
Building Customer Relationships

  • Works under sales leadership guidance to build/maintain relationships with key stakeholders in assigned account and prospects


Account Management

  • Conducts daily account management of existing Equinix customers based on assigned territory, including monthly recurring and non-recurring transactions, upsell opportunities, contract renewals and positioning Equinix’s global platform


Solution Selling

  • Works under sales leadership guidance to identify customer’s business needs, challenges and technical requirements and matches to Equinix solutions

  • Engages and influences key decision makers within client base


Contract Renewals

  • Facilitates customer contract renewals and negotiations to protect revenue with sales leadership guidance

  • Proactively addresses high churn risk customers leveraging internal resources and occasionally external partners

  • Leverages internal resources to understand customers contractual obligations around notice periods, renew terms, Equinix exposure

  • Leverages Internal Partners · Coordinates with cross-functional sales support teams as needed

Pipeline Management

  • Monitors and provides updates on status of each account to grow future business and provide accurate forecasts

Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

• California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $82,000 to $126,000 per year

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range displayed reflects On-Target Earnings or OTE, which is base pay plus commissions, and does not include equity or benefits. Equity may be offered depending on the position.
