Critical Facilities Engineer IV – Electrical Systems Data Center Environment

Equinix is the leading provider of data center and colocation services in Finland and globally. We are looking for a new team member to strengthen our professional Operations team in the Greater Helsinki area.

We are seeking an experienced electrical professional for maintenance and service operations. The primary work locations are Equinix data centers in Suvilahti and Viikinmäki, Helsinki.

The role's daily responsibilities include responding to alarms generated by building automation systems and performing various maintenance activities. You will be responsible for the data center's electrical systems and ensure their preventive maintenance, repairs, and ongoing upkeep in cooperation with our service partners.

An ideal candidate has several years of electrical experience and a relevant educational background, preferably gained in industrial environments or property maintenance.

You will participate in planning and scheduling maintenance work and will also carry out maintenance tasks independently. The position provides the opportunity to work with a wide range of critical equipment, including:

• Diesel generators
• Transformers
• Electrical switchboards
• UPS systems
• Battery systems
• Cooling equipment

The role also includes preparing maintenance procedures and work instructions in both Finnish and English. You will be supported by skilled colleagues and partners but must also be capable of working independently.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills in both Finnish and English
• Strong teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Strong learning ability and interest in developing new skills
• Relevant education and work experience
• Basic computer and software proficiency
• Clean background record (the selected candidate will undergo a standard security clearance process)

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical Qualification S2
• Experience with thermal imaging inspections
• Experience working in data centers
• Knowledge of building services engineering and automation systems

Hyvä lähtökohta työtehtävään on teollisuuden tai kiinteistöhuollon parissa toimiva henkilö, jolla on usean vuoden sähköpuolen kokemus ja soveltuva koulutus.

Osallistut huoltojen suunnitteluun, aikatauluttamiseen ja työskentelet myös itsenäisesti huoltojen parissa. Pääset työskentelemään monipuolisten laitteiden parissa: Dieselgeneraattorit, muuntajat, sähkökeskukset, UPS-laitteet, akustot ja jäähdytyskoneet. Työhön kuuluu huoltokuvauksien ja työselostuksien laatiminen sekä suomeksi että englanniksi. Tukenasi ovat osaavat ja ammattitaitoiset työkaverit sekä yhteistyökumppanit, mutta kykenet myös itsenäiseen työskentelyyn.

Suomessa meitä on yli 60 huippuammattilaista ja viisi toimipistettämme sijaitsevat kaikki pääkaupunkiseudulla. Maailmanlaajuisesti kollegoita on yli 10 000.
