Job Summary
The Operations Compliance Expert, project manages implementation of compliance and local legislative requirements at single or multi-site level(s). Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned compliance related complex topics. Identifies risks and non-compliance via audits and compliance consulting meetings within the Data Center. Determines methods & procedures on new assignments; may coordinate project work for others.
Responsibilities
Audits & Certifications
Plans and leads complex compliance audits
Acts as an expert single point of contact (SPOC) for the Compliance Center of Excellence (COE) for advanced audit activities
Performs site level audit evidence reviews including making sure the sites in scope are prepared for any upcoming audits
Manages and follows-up on complex audit findings
Identifies processes to be audited based on expert knowledge of criteria and controls
Reports any findings to management and relevant stakeholders
Manages rollout of new certifications and sustenance of existing certifications within the sites in scope
Participates in wide-ranged advanced external audits as a subject matter expert (SME)
Management Systems
Creates and identifies unique changes to any local site level management system assets by raising a document change request
Provides wide-ranged compliance knowledge input and hosts site level management review meetings
Ensures expert level local procedures are developed and maintained to comply with local legislative and Equinix requirements
Oversees/Ensures all required compliance records are maintained in local/global repositories; including: records relevant to Operations compliance(QISBC and EHS)
Creates global/regional policies and processes relevant to the compliance subject assigned. Also, reviews any local procedures for non-compliance and deviations
Maintains and keeps up-to-date management system assets in the designated process repository
Program Management
Produces advanced compliance reports for local management including key performance indicators and metrics for complex matters
Performs an expert analysis on corrective and preventative actions to identify complex systemic issues/root causes/delays in completion and recommends to resolve though broad preventive actions
Identifies and leads complex process improvement initiatives and compliance projects for the site/country in collaboration with regional and/or global stakeholders
Forecast and track budget for assigned scope of work
Plan and manage advanced compliance projects as per scope assigned
Training
Develops and implements advanced training plans for standards, regulatory and reporting requirements (i.e., environmental compliance, global security management)
Works with local, regional and global management to assess need for new training or re-training efforts
Develops and implements training materials and trains internal team members others on compliance topics
Monitors training of external/internal stakeholders to assure necessary compliance training is delivered to applicable stakeholders
1st Line Responsibilities
Acts as an expert level single point of contact (SPOC) for complex site level compliance for customers or any third party audits
Manages site level audit findings by providing subject matter expertise (SME) guidance on complex compliance related questions
Provides budget expert level recommendations for complex site level compliance needs/requirements
Provides SME compliance support for site/country stakeholders, including: mentoring and identifying compliance related risks and issues at a site level
Assists Data Center Managers in the implementation of site level compliance policies and processes as per global requirements
2nd Line Responsibilities
Manages complex compliance through standards team's first line of defense actions with local, regional and global operations and cross-functional teams
Assures global operations compliance team follows regulatory and compliance standards and company guidelines and requirements, include communication to the external stakeholders
Provides RFI/RFP support for compliance related topics and second level support for customer audits
Assures team stays current on standards, fielding their requests for training and other newsfeed resources
Analyzes and investigates Regional/Global level incidents and advises on remedial action
Supports and advises first line of defense on management reviews
Compliance Implementation
Provides the customer RFI, RFP, pre-sales, audit and questionnaire site level compliance support
Leads on responses for complex requests or sensitive issues with high risk
Integrates new sites or site expansions to Equinix standards
Ensures global business continuity and risk assessment program is followed
Supervise/Support application of designated permits, compliance to existing permits, plans (e.g. air, spill prevention, chemical reporting, etc.)
Evaluates/Approves advanced work place changes, processes, equipment and substances for compliance to Equinix policies and recommends expert level corrective action
Qualifications
UK Compliance/HSE experience required.
Proven years of experience in relevant field of compliance preferred
Bachelor's Degree in a related subject preferred
QISBC or EHS certification preferred, qualified lead auditor/implementer in at least one standard preferred
