Job Summary

The Vice President, Strategic Finance Partner serves as the senior finance advisor to the Global Product, DIO (IT), and Corporate Function organizations. The role shapes strategy, drives profitable growth, optimizes resource allocation, supports critical financial decisions, and leads global finance teams to maximize business performance and long-term value creation.

As a trusted member of the leadership team, the Vice President evaluates investments, assesses risks and trade-offs, and provides financial leadership on the business's most critical decisions. Partnering across the business, Controllership, Centers of Excellence, Finance Transformation, and other Global Finance functions, the role connects strategy to measurable outcomes, drives accountability, and enables informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary finance thought partner to executive leaders within the supported function, shaping strategic priorities, the growth agenda, and the choices that define where the business competes and invests
  • Bring an independent, commercially grounded point of view to strategy discussions; challenge assumptions, surface blind spots, and influence executive decisions through insight rather than reporting
  • Participate as a full member of the functional leadership team and contribute to the setting of business strategy, not only its financial translation

Strategic Decision-Making

  • Frame the most consequential decisions facing the function, define the options under consideration, and establish the criteria and trade-offs leadership will use to choose between them
  • Set the analytical agenda; determine which questions need answering and commission the required modeling and analysis from the Financial Planning and Analysis Center of Excellence
  • Translate analytical output into clear recommendations, and hold the line on decision quality, pace, and follow-through

Future-Focused Business Models and Scenarios

  • Define the design of forward-looking business and economic models used to evaluate new markets, pricing and commercial models, partnerships, and operating model shifts
  • Shape scenario and sensitivity frameworks around the strategic uncertainties that matter most, and use them to pressure-test the durability of the strategy
  • Interpret long-range outlooks and competitive, market, and macro signals to anticipate inflection points before they show up in results

Input on Business Strategy

  • Co-own the functional strategy and long-range plan with business leadership, ensuring strategic choices are economically sound and value-creating
  • Advise on growth, portfolio, and capability-building choices, including build, buy, and partner options, and their implications for the operating model

Capital and Portfolio Choices

  • Guide where capital, talent, and management attention are deployed across competing strategic priorities
  • Challenge and endorse major business cases on strategic merit and expected value, rather than preparing them
  • Advocate for reallocation away from lower-value activity and advise on the structural economics of the function
  • Sponsor post-decision reviews so the organization learns from the bets it has placed

Partnership with the Center of Excellence

  • Partner with the Center of Excellence for planning cycles, forecasting production, model building, standard reporting, and data management; help define requirements and quality standards
  • Set priorities and service expectations with Center of Excellence leadership, and translate its output into executive-ready insight, narrative, and recommendations

Team Leadership

  • Lead a focused senior business partnering team built for judgment, influence, and strategic insight, shifting from transactional throughput to business outcome
  • Create a culture of curiosity, constructive challenge, speed, collaboration, and accountability for business outcomes
  • Develop finance talent capable of operating credibly with executives and building succession for partnering roles
  • Foster a strong operating rhythm across the business, Strategy, and the Center of Excellence

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Proven years of progressive finance experience, with a clear track record in strategic finance and executive-level business partnering
  • Experience partnering with major business functions such as Global Operations, Product, Engineering, Information Technology, Marketing, Customer Success, or Corporate Functions
  • Proven record of influencing strategy and major investment decisions at the executive level
  • Strong command of value creation, long-range planning, scenario design, and business model economics
  • Experience operating in a model where planning, modeling, and reporting are delivered by a shared Financial Planning and Analysis Center of Excellence

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in large-scale, global, or high-growth organizations, ideally including business partnering, corporate strategy, and global leadership exposure
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive decision-making without direct authority
  • Deep knowledge of the supported function's strategy, competitive dynamics, and value drivers
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent advanced business credential preferred

Competencies

  • Demonstrates strategic thinking, a growth mindset, and sound business judgment
  • Influences executive stakeholders and communicates with clarity and impact
  • Applies strong commercial and financial acumen to complex business decisions
  • Frames complex, ambiguous decisions and clarifies options and trade-offs
  • Prioritizes capital, talent, and resources against the highest-value opportunities.
  • Constructively challenges leaders while balancing competing priorities
  • Collaborates effectively across functions, geographies, and levels of the organization
  • Builds, develops, and inspires high-performing global teams
