Job Summary

Equinix is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Commercial and Regional Finance. This leader is the key business partner to the Regional Presidents, Country Managing Directors, Corporate Development, and Business Development, sitting in-region and on the regional leadership team to drive cross-functional financial performance.


The role provides commercial support and finance business partnering for the Regional Presidents to enable better collaboration, communication, and outcomes. This position serves as the single finance point of contact for the Regional Presidents in navigating the finance organization, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to them.


The team aligns on metro strategy with regional leaders and partners with Sales, Revenue Operations, Capacity, Operations, and Corporate Development to maximize return on invested capital. The role also coordinates with finance peers on forecasting, budgeting, and reporting of regional profit and loss performance, as well as the Regional President’s selling, general, and administrative expenses.


Responsibilities

Regional Business Partnering

  • Serve as the single finance point of contact for the Regional Presidents, with a dotted line into the Regional President and a seat on the regional leadership team
  • Lead the teams to deliver integrated commercial support and finance business partnering
  • Partner with Country Managing Directors, Corporate Development, and Business Development on regional priorities and trade-offs
  • Provide clear, concise, commercially focused communication on how the business achieves its financial, strategic, and operational outcomes

Metro and Regional Strategy

  • Align on metro strategy with Regional Presidents, Country Managing Directors, and other regional leaders, pushing for improved long-term financial outcomes
  • Support new market funding and acceleration decisions with rigorous business cases and clear return expectations
  • Hold the line on long-term financial outcomes while execution stays owned within each respective function

Asset Management and Commercial Value Levers

  • Provide critical strategic and operational expertise and judgment in the commercial decision-making process to achieve return on invested capital aspirations
  • Improve financial outcomes across pricing, revenue opportunities, delivery timing, volume, ecosystem, capacity, operational scale, and regulatory levers
  • Partner with Sales, Global Territory Management Operations, Capacity, Operations, and Corporate Development to understand commercial drivers and maximize return on invested capital
  • Drive value through local, regional, and global initiatives, from new market acceleration to pricing strategy

Profit and Loss Visibility and Insight

  • Collaborate with Customer and Revenue Finance, Operations Finance, xScale Finance, and other teams to build a complete view of country and regional performance
  • Provide profit and loss visibility, insight on business performance, and advice to local leaders on opportunities and risks
  • Coordinate forecasting, budgeting, and reporting of Regional President selling, general, and administrative expenses
  • Support delivery of business-case returns across the regional investment portfolio

Transactions and Corporate Development

  • Partner with the Regional President and Regional Corporate Development leader on mergers and acquisitions and other large transactions
  • Coordinate with the Global Mergers and Acquisitions Finance team on valuation, diligence, and approvals
  • Support in-region integration and post-close performance tracking against the business case

Team Leadership and Culture

  • Lead a regionally distributed team
  • Build a diverse, high-performing team that makes a positive impact on culture
  • Align to enterprise standards, systems, and calendars set by Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis and the Financial Planning and Analysis Center of Excellence

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Proven years in a commercial or finance role responsible for understanding and driving financial outcomes
  • Proven experience leading and managing regional finance teams of more than ten people
  • Commercial and financial leadership in the data center industry, or similar real estate or technology industries
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Preferred Experience

  • Master's degree (MBA) or equivalent advanced business credential
  • Experience partnering with regional presidents, country leaders, and other executive stakeholders
  • Exposure to mergers and acquisitions and other large transactions in coordination with a global deal team
  • Track record of developing long-term strategies that align with organizational goals
  • Success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 224,000 - 336,000 USD / Annual

United States - Tampa Office TAO : 224,000 - 336,000 USD / Annual

Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 202,000 - 302,000 CAD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
