Product Operations Director

Job Summary

As the Director of Product Operations, your primary responsibility will be to ensure a consistent methodology and approach for the product management lifecycle so that employees and stakeholders have a consistent, predictable, dependent experience when working with our product organization.

You will drive efforts to boost operational efficiency that empowers Product Managers to focus on solving problems for our customers in service to our high level product strategy. You will be a strategic leader in our extended Product organization and shape how we collaborate across functions and with partner organizations such as Care, Marketing, Operations, Sales, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strong foundation of collaboration and partnership with cross functional leaders and stakeholders

  • Streamline and coordinate our product release process and tools

  • Partner with Product leaders to oversee and continuously improve our rhythms of business including weekly and quarterly business reviews, quarterly planning, and metrics reviews

  • Improve the way we communicate across and between product, engineering, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity of roles and responsibilities

  • Manage and develop tools and best practices that support product design and development

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in Product Operations, with at least 3 years in a people leadership role.

  • Experience being the direct owner and driver of product planning, tracking, and release processes.

  • History of autonomous decision making within a complex environment.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent leadership and persuasion skills and the ability to lead without direct authority.

  • Deep understanding of the needs of different stakeholders in a Prod/Eng/UX organization, from executive leadership to individual contributors.

  • Proven track record of measurable process improvement and operational efficiency.

  • Proven track record of identifying and mitigating operational risks that may impact product delivery timelines and quality. Ability to proactively address issues and bottlenecks.

  • Radical simplification mindset.

  • Proven ability to balance completeness and quick business results, optimizing for both speed and effectiveness.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret data and insights to inform strategies.

  • Proven ability to facilitate strategic prioritization and bridge between strategy and execution, ensuring plans translate into effective actions.

  • A customer-centric approach, with a focus on delivering exceptional value and experience through product offerings.

  • Track record of making difficult decisions and tradeoffs in the face of ambiguity and incomplete data.

  • Experience building operational tools in Smartsheet.

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are: • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $179,000 to $304,000 per year • California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $172,000 to $293,000 per year • Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $159,000 to $271,000 per year Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
