Job Summary
The Principal Business Systems Analyst – Oracle EPM is a senior individual contributor responsible for the end‑to‑end functional leadership, solution design, and delivery of Oracle EPM Cloud solutions. This role partners closely with Finance, FP&A, and IT leadership to translate business strategy into scalable, global Oracle EPM capabilities aligned to enterprise architecture and long‑term roadmaps.
As the Oracle EPM principal, this role sets functional design standards, leads complex initiatives, mentors other analysts, and serves as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Requirements Leadership
Partner with Finance, FP&A, and IT stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into clear, actionable functional requirements
Distill executive‑level objectives into structured discovery plans and guide teams through effective requirements gathering
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders by proactively identifying risks, tradeoffs, and downstream impacts
Clearly communicate solution intent, progress, and realized business value
Functional & Solution Design
Lead functional and solution design for complex, cross‑functional Oracle EPM initiatives
Develop and maintain functional design standards, patterns, and methodologies across the EPM portfolio
Ensure all designs align with enterprise architecture principles and long‑term business and technology roadmaps
Review and advise on designs produced by peers or partners to ensure quality, scalability, and sustainability
Stay current on Oracle EPM capabilities, product roadmap, and industry best practices
Architecture & Integration
Contribute to application and integration architecture across Oracle EPM and adjacent systems
Design security, metadata, workflow, and approval structures that support global planning and reporting needs
Establish configuration and governance standards to drive consistency, performance, and speed to delivery
Delivery, Testing & Release Management
Define and drive test strategy and execution to ensure appropriate cross‑functional coverage
Lead defect triage, root‑cause analysis, and resolution best practices
Manage scope, risks, and dependencies across multiple initiatives running in parallel
Structure large initiatives into phased, value‑based releases to accelerate business benefit
Production Support & Continuous Improvement
Partner with support teams to monitor functional support metrics and trends
Drive root‑cause resolution for recurring issues and identify opportunities for system optimization
Continuously assess and improve performance, usability, and automation across EPM applications
Change Management & Adoption
Collaborate with business partners to drive adoption and effective use of Oracle EPM solutions
Assess adoption rates and business case realization; recommend adjustments to improve outcomes
Vendor & Technology Leadership
Lead and manage external consultants and system integrators for Oracle EPM initiatives
Participate in vendor advisory boards and industry user groups
Partner with Procurement, Legal, and leadership on vendor evaluations, SOWs, and contract negotiations
Lead large‑scale technology evaluations and support executive decision‑making through clear recommendations
Mentorship & Standards
Mentor and guide other Business Systems Analysts
Establish and reinforce best practices, design standards, and delivery methodologies across the EPM portfolio
Qualifications
Required
Hands‑on experience with Oracle EPM Cloud, specifically EPBCS / PBCS
Hands‑on expertise in at least one additional Oracle EPM module (e.g., PCMCS, EDM, Narrative Reporting)
Strong experience with Smart View, Calculation Manager, and Data Management
Proficiency with EPM Automate, REST APIs, Groovy Scripting, and integration/automation techniques
Solid understanding of financial planning, forecasting, and management reporting processes
Proven ability to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives as a senior individual contributor
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or a related field
Preferred
Experience designing enterprise‑scale Oracle EPM architectures
Experience mentoring junior analysts or serving as a solution design authority
Exposure to cloud‑based or hybrid integration architectures
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 136,000 - 204,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
