Job Summary
Partner the engineering manager by giving to technical designs and implementation of said designs with high-quality and secure code within the budgetary and timeline parameters.

Responsibilities

• Architect, Design, Build & Operate the customer APIs working in collaboration with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering & IT teams

• Provide technology architecture, design & governance services around APIs

• Provide hands-on technical leadership around Equinix APIs.

• Build and maintain API technical documentation.

• Responsible for defining and maintaining cloud architecture for APIs (design/operation/security architecture)

• Developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of products, industry and technical trends, product software architecture & design, and general business/financial acumen.

• Clearly articulate and communicate tactical and strategic messages to all business and technical groups

• Provide thought leadership and lead innovation by exploring, investigating, recommending, benchmarking and implementing tools and frameworks.

• Work in a Globally Distributed Development team environment to enable successful delivery with a minimal supervision

• Advocate, document, and follow best design and development practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent with 8+ years in the field of Software Engineering and Development

• An obsession with customer experience, product fidelity, developer documentation, API ecosystem and exceptional developer experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in building Platforms, Frameworks & API’s using Open Source Java & JavaScript Frameworks (Spring Boot, Play, Akka, Netty.IO, Node.js etc.)

• Strong working experience in micro services API first development, API gateway & API Orchestration 

• Must have Hands-on Experience in AWS/GCP and technologies like Ansible, Containers, Kubernetes etc

• AWS Certified Solution Architect (Professional) – highly preferred

• Good understanding of Identity concepts - SAML, JWT, Oauth etc.

• 5+ years of experience working directly with customers & stakeholders providing business & technology solutions

• Working experience with Swagger (Open API Spec), OAuth, REST, JSON etc.,

• Excellent understanding of Micro services based architectures, Service oriented design & architecture, Application Integration & Messaging, Security and Web 2.0

• Strong understanding of design patterns and best practices in Java platform including UI, Application & Frameworks development

• Strong Experience/Knowledge on Data modeling (RDBMS, XSD, JSON), Database/XML interaction, SQL, Stored Procedure and ORM.

• Must have prior experience in leading Technical deliverables. Must be able to effectively communicate & work with fellow team members and other functional team members to coordinate & meet deliverables.

• Exceptional communication, organization and presentation skills

• Experience working with Open Source API Gateway Frameworks, Mulesoft/Apigee API Gateway is a huge plus

• Good understanding of CI/CD systems and Container based deployments on Docker

• Experience working with in Agile or Scaled Agiled Framework is required
