Equinix is looking for senior-level email security engineer in that area.

At Equinix, a “Senior Information Security Engineer” role encompasses email security as part of a broader InfoSec remit. Equinix, a global digital infrastructure company, expects this senior engineer to design, implement, and maintain security solutions across endpoints, web, and email.

Responsibilities

  • Email Security Tool Ownership – Implement and manage enterprise email security platform configurations. Align settings with best practices and current threat landscape; adjust filtering rules to block phishing and malware

  • Email Authentication & Trust (SPF, DKIM, DMARC enforcement; sender trust) serve as a primary owner for InfoSec technologies and ensures they are operating effectively

  • Threat Detection & Response Integration – Continuously monitor email traffic for suspicious patterns. Investigate alerts in real time and respond to email-borne threats immediately to minimize impact. Perform regular audits of email security settings to find and fix vulnerabilities before incidents occur

  • Lifecycle Management & Best Practices – Follow a structured approach to security tech: Plan, Design, Deploy, Operate, Optimize email security solutions in line with the Information Security Systems Development Lifecycle. This ensures continuous improvement and up-to-date defenses for email and other systems

  • Collaboration and Guidance – Work closely with IT, network, and application teams to provide guidance and best-practice solutions for security issues. The role involves mentoring others and coordinating efforts to implement security controls effectively

  • Automation and Innovation – Develop scripts and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) solutions to automate repetitive security tasks. Equinix specifically notes coding for automation (in Python, PowerShell, etc.) as part of the duties, highlighting innovation in improving security operations

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in InfoSec, with 2+ years specifically in email security engineering/operations. Senior specialist in messaging security

  • Preferably bachelor's in computer science/engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Requires proficiency in enterprise email security platforms (could be Microsoft 365, Proofpoint, or others) to detect and block threats

  • Email Auth: Strong knowledge of DMARC, SPF, DKIM and their role in preventing spoofing.

  • Endpoint Security: Deep experience with Endpoint Detection & Response tools, agent deployment, etc.

  • Strong grasp of email routing and SMTP protocols, TLS encryption for email, etc. as part of troubleshooting mail flow. General network security understanding (firewalls, etc.) to see email in context

  • Scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to build or improve services considered as advantage

  • Ability to apply security principles, communicate clearly, and exercise good judgment regarding confidentiality and integrity of data

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 136,000 - 204,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
