We’re looking for an experienced Senior Manager of Customer Research and Business Operations. The person will spend 50% of the time leading the analysis and interpretation of market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer behaviors that shape our strategic direction in our Americas region. The remaining 50% of the time, the person will support the Go-To-Market Data Product Management team's business operations. This role combines deep analytical skills with strategic thinking and strong communication to influence high-level business decisions.
Key priorities for this role include building our battle cards for the sales teams, a unified view of market intelligence, and producing monthly market signals newsletter that will power M&A, and customer targeting and acquisition efforts.
This role resides within Equinix’s Enterprise Data & Analytics team, and reports to the Senior Director of Data Product, Go-To-Market.
Responsibilities
Gather customer intelligence and build assets for Go-To-Market and Corporate teams
Lead the development and execution of the company’s market intelligence strategy for Americas region to monitor key trends, emerging opportunities, and potential threats
Conduct in-depth competitive analysis—including business models, innovation pipelines, pricing strategies, and go-to-market approaches—to inform leadership decisions
Partner with cross-functional teams such as Product, Marketing, Finance, and Corporate Strategy to deliver insights that drive growth and investment priorities
Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and briefings for executives with concise and actionable insights
Manage vendor and data relationships (e.g., syndicated data providers, research firms) to ensure high data quality and strategic value
Deliver market forecasts and scenario planning analyses that support long-term strategic planning
Summarize complex insights into clear narratives, presentations, and strategy briefs for a variety of audiences, including the C-suite
Mentor and develop junior analysts, promoting best practices in intelligence gathering and business storytelling
Partner with Go-To-Market, Commercial Finance, and Corporate Development teams as a trusted advisor
Work side-by-side with Go-To-Market, Commercial Finance, and Corporate Development teams and leadership to evaluate M&A options, market whitespace, identify tradeoffs, estimate effort, and make recommendations where applicable
Review and assess market models, pipeline designs, and competitor moves; identify risks and tradeoffs before they become headwinds
Critique and challenge inflated estimates and oversimplified proposals; know when a "simple" request is actually complex
Guide teams toward pragmatic solutions when requirements are ambiguous or shifting
Business Operations
Partner with executive and functional leaders to translate product management strategy into operational plans, goals, and execution roadmaps
Lead planning processes, including OKRs, operating cadences, and reviews
Drive alignment across cross‑functional teams to ensure priorities, dependencies, and tradeoffs are clearly understood
Own reporting, and executive readouts; synthesize complex data into clear, decision‑ready insights
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through quantitative and qualitative analysis
Proactively recommend actions to improve efficiency, growth, or customer outcomes
Operating Model & Process Excellence
Design, implement, and continuously improve operating rhythms (Weekly reviews, monthly reviews, exec reviews)
Streamline processes and remove friction across planning, execution, and decision‑making
Establish scalable mechanisms, frameworks, and governance models as the business grows
Cross‑Functional Leadership
Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to senior stakeholders across Product, Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Engineering
Lead complex, ambiguous, cross‑functional initiatives with no clear owner or precedent
Influence without authority and drive accountability across diverse teams
Bring outside-in perspective
Stay current on market trends; bring relevant innovations (e.g., market reports, knowledge graphs) to inform roadmap decisions
Serve as a trusted advisor to business partners on what's emerging and what's hype

Industry background in cloud infrastructure, B2B SaaS, data centers, telecommunications, or multi-cloud networking
