Compliance Operations Senior Analyst (Health, Safety & Environment)

Lead safety, compliance and continuous improvement in a critical infrastructure environment

We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment professional to join our EMEA West Compliance team, supporting operations across the Netherlands. This role plays a key part in ensuring legal compliance, strengthening our safety culture, and driving continual improvement across some of the world's most critical digital infrastructure facilities. 

You will act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, providing practical guidance, oversight and expertise to ensure our sites operate safely, effectively and in line with both Dutch legislation and Equinix standards. 

This position is ideally suited to an experienced HSE professional who is comfortable working independently, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and driving meaningful improvements in safety and compliance performance. 

 

What you'll do 

  • Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of Health, Safety & Environment and compliance programmes across multiple sites 

  • Serve as a trusted HSE advisor to site leadership teams, supporting operational decision-making and risk management 

  • Ensure compliance with Dutch Health & Safety legislation (Arbowet and related regulations) and Equinix requirements 

  • Plan and execute risk-based audits, inspections and assurance activities, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions 

  • Lead and facilitate incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring effective preventative and corrective measures are implemented 

  • Support the development and maintenance of RI&E assessments, procedures, management systems and compliance documentation 

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification activities 

  • Analyse safety performance data, identify trends and provide meaningful recommendations to leadership teams 

  • Drive a proactive safety culture through engagement, coaching and influencing operational stakeholders 

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives that strengthen risk management, compliance and operational excellence 

  • Maintain awareness of legislative developments and industry best practice, supporting implementation across the business 

  • Build effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, auditors and operational teams to ensure a consistent approach to safety and compliance 

 

What you'll bring 

  • Significant experience within Health & Safety, Compliance or EHS roles in a regulated, technical or operational environment 

  • Experience working within data centres, critical infrastructure, engineering, telecommunications, industrial or similar high-risk environments is highly desirable 

  • Strong knowledge of Dutch Health & Safety legislation (Arbowet) and its practical application 

  • Experience managing audits, inspections, compliance programmes and management systems 

  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation and root cause analysis 

  • Experience supporting or maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems 

  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders from front-line operations through to senior leadership 

  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate compliance requirements into practical operational guidance 

  • Fluent Dutch and English 

  • Relevant HSE qualification such as MVK, HVK, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent 

Preferred 

  • Experience leading compliance or HSE improvement projects 

  • Experience working within multinational or highly regulated organisations 

  • Membership of a recognised HSE professional body
