Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Power BI Engineers to join our Business Intelligence team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI, while also contributing to data modelling and semantic layer development in Looker.

You will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performance analytics solutions and ensure consistency of business metrics across tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
• Write advanced DAX expressions, including time-intelligence functions and complex measures
• Build and maintain robust data models (star schema), relationships, and hierarchies
• Develop and maintain Power Query (M language) transformations for data preparation
• Design, develop, and maintain LookML models, views, explores, dimensions, measures, and derived tables
• Contribute to semantic layer design ensuring reusable, consistent business metrics across BI tools
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure datasets are analytics-ready and well-structured
• Optimize performance of dashboards and data models across tools
• Troubleshoot issues in reports, datasets, and reporting pipelines
• Manage Power BI Service (workspaces, deployment pipelines, refresh schedules)
• Implement data governance, security, and Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable BI solutions

Required Skills (Mandatory)

• Strong hands-on experience in Power BI (dashboarding, DAX, data modelling)
• Experience with Looker (LookML) or strong understanding of semantic modelling concepts
• Strong understanding of data modelling (star schema, relationships, performance optimization)
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and debugging
• Experience working across multiple BI tools (Power BI + at least one of Looker/Tableau/Qlik)
• Experience integrating BI tools with BigQuery, Exasol, or similar data platforms
• Experience in migrating dashboards/reports across BI tools
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance
• Hands-on experience with JIRA / Agile methodologies

Good to Have

• Direct experience with LookML development
• Experience with Tableau or other BI tools
• Knowledge of Python or JavaScript for API integrations
• Exposure to modern data stack (BigQuery, Snowflake, Fabric, etc.)

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong end-to-end ownership (data → model → report → deployment)
• Experience designing scalable semantic layers and reusable data models
• Ability to adapt across tools (Power BI today, Looker tomorrow)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging mindset
• Good stakeholder communication and business understanding

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in BI / Data Analytics
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
