Drive the Future of Banking, Financial Services & Insurance Infrastructure Across APAC

Equinix is the world’s digital infrastructure company—the trusted foundation on which the global economy runs. Our platform interconnects the world’s leading financial institutions, technology providers, cloud platforms, and networks, enabling them to exchange data, execute transactions, and build the AI-powered services of the future.

We are seeking a Senior Director, Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) Vertical Sales, APAC— accountable for Equinix’s BFSI commercial strategy and revenue performance in Asia Pacific region. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Sales, Asia Pacific, you will define how Equinix engages, wins, and expands within the banking, capital markets, insurance, and fintech ecosystems.  Your decisions will directly shape the trajectory of one of our most strategically significant growth engines.

This is not a conventional sales leadership role. Working with your global colleagues, you are a principal voice in regional strategy, an executive-level presence with customers and partners, and the driving force behind Equinix’s growth in this consequential vertical.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth

  • Own the Vertical. Accountable for the APAC BFSI vertical strategy—setting the direction, defining the go-to-market model, and designing the territory plans, account roadmaps, and pipeline frameworks that capture new opportunities and expand market and wallet share. This is your vertical to lead.
  • Deliver Predictable Growth. Drive disciplined revenue execution: maintain rigorous forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and quota attainment to consistently meet and exceed ambitious financial targets.
  • Champion Solution Selling. Elevate the team’s commercial capability by embedding sophisticated solution-selling methodologies that connect Equinix’s platform to the strategic priorities of financial services leaders.
  • Build & Develop Talent. Recruit, coach, and inspire a high-performing industry vertical sales team—creating a culture of accountability, intellectual curiosity, and continuous development.

Customer & Opportunity Management

  • Serve as the senior commercial lead for strategic BFSI opportunities across APAC, orchestrating country, regional, and global resources to secure and close complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Establish and deepen executive-level relationships with leading banks, insurers, exchanges, and fintechs—positioning Equinix as an indispensable infrastructure partner as they navigate digital transformation, AI adoption, and the demands of increasingly real-time financial markets.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customer leadership, translating deep industry knowledge into compelling business cases that align Equinix solutions with each institution’s unique risk, regulatory, and growth agenda—including the infrastructure implications of AI deployment at scale.

Executive Influence & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Operate as a principal voice on the APAC Sales leadership team—contributing directly to regional strategy, resource allocation, and go-to-market prioritisation alongside the SVP and fellow vertical leaders.
  • Drive strategic alignment across Product, Marketing, Solutions Architecture, Channel & Alliances, and Country Sales teams—ensuring the BFSI vertical is consistently prioritised, resourced, and activated across the region.
  • Provide APAC executive leadership with authoritative perspectives on BFSI market trends, competitive shifts, regulatory developments, the infrastructure demands of AI, and portfolio gaps—informing decisions at the highest level of the business.
  • Represent Equinix externally at senior industry forums, regulatory engagements, and C-suite customer events—building Equinix’s profile and your own as a recognised authority in APAC BFSI digital infrastructure.

Performance & Operational Excellence

  • Establish clear performance standards to ensure sales effectiveness, pipeline health, and revenue outcomes across the BFSI vertical sales team.
  • Continuously refine sales processes, playbooks, and engagement models to improve velocity, conversion, and customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of operational discipline and innovation within the team, identifying and scaling best practices across the broader APAC Sales organization.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven BFSI Sales Leadership. Demonstrable track record of senior sales leadership success within financial services technology, data centre, connectivity, or cloud infrastructure environments—including consistent delivery against multi-million dollar regional revenue targets.
  • BFSI Domain Expertise. Deep expertise in engaging and influencing C-suite and senior technology/operations stakeholders within banks, capital markets firms, insurers, or fintecs—with the credibility to advise on digital infrastructure, cloud connectivity, regulatory strategy, and the growing infrastructure demands that AI is placing on financial institutions.
  • Strategic & Commercial Acumen. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute multi-market strategies in complex, matrixed organisations—translating broad commercial vision into structured plans and disciplined execution.
  • Executive Influence & Stakeholder Leadership. A proven executive influencer who operates with authority and credibility across product, sales, partner, and marketing functions—capable of shaping priorities, mobilising resources, and driving decisions in complex, matrixed organisations without relying on direct authority.
  • Regional Market Insight. Strong grasp of the regulatory, operational, and technology priorities shaping financial services across key APAC markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and Australia.
  • Leadership & People Development. Experience leading, coaching, and scaling high-performing sales teams—with a philosophy grounded in developing talent, fostering psychological safety, and sustaining performance.
