Job Summary
The Landing Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining our international cable landing station in Qua Iboe. The candidate will be responsible for the reliability, availability, and performance of our subsea cable systems, focusing on outside plant and power infrastructure. You will work on designing, implementing, and maintaining cable systems, power equipment, and facilities to support our global network.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain outside plant infrastructure, including cable landing facilities, beach manholes, and terrestrial cable routes
Manage power infrastructure, including power systems, backup generators, and energy storage systems
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on project planning, execution, and troubleshooting
Develop and implement maintenance procedures, emergency response plans, and disaster recovery strategies
Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and technical assessments for new cable landing projects
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Provide technical expertise and support for fault management, performance optimization, and capacity upgrades
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in Electrical/Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in subsea cable systems, outside plants, and power infrastructure
Strong knowledge of cable landing station design, power systems, and network architecture
Experience with industry-standard equipment (e.g., DWDM, OADM, power conditioners)
Proficiency in technical design and analysis tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project)
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Relevant certification (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CTP) is an advantage
