Job Summary
The EPM role involves global managing and ensuring the stability, security, and efficient operation of all endpoints, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and Windows Servers. The engineer collaborates with various teams including InfoSec operations, Identity Management and Application support, to create a seamless and secure end-user experience.
The role also will involve some Citrix Engineering and JAMF administration. Citrix Engineering and JAMF administration knowledge is preferred however not required as training with admins will be a requirement. Ideally responsibilities to include design, implementation, management of Citrix-based virtualized desktops (VDI) AD application delivery solutions and some JAMF provisioning and patching. Schedule may involve some On-Call flexibility as Citrix Infra will be transitioned from Cloud to On-prem to address any critical issues outside of regular working shift.
Responsibilities
Endpoint Deployment, Citrix Admin, and Configuration
Design, implement, and maintain standardized endpoint configurations and deployment processes via Autopilot, SCCM, and JAMF
Install, configure, and manage endpoint management tools such as Mobile Device Management (MDM), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and Intune
Collaborate with stakeholders to define hardware and software standards for endpoints, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance
Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement VDI-related infrastructure components, such as networking, storage, and security
Manage and maintain the VDI environment, including provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting of virtual desktops and application
Assess and plan for the scalability of Citrix environments based on business needs. Perform regular capacity assessments and recommend upgrades or adjustments as required
Security Management
Implement and enforce security policies for endpoints to protect against malware, unauthorized access, and data breaches
Monitor and respond to security threats, vulnerabilities, and patches, ensuring endpoints are up-to-date and compliant with security standards
Conduct regular security assessments and audits on endpoints to identify and mitigate risks
Implement security best practices to protect Citrix environments from threats and vulnerabilities. Configure and manage access controls, authentication, and encryption
Stay up to date with Citrix updates and patches. Plan and execute patching and updates in a timely manner while minimizing service interruptions
Endpoint Monitoring, Citrix platform Health, and Support
Monitor endpoint health, performance, and availability, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner
Provide technical support to end-users for troubleshooting and resolving endpoint-related problems
Collaborate with the helpdesk to ensure quick and effective resolution of end-user issues
Identify and resolve issues related to Citrix infrastructure, applications, and connectivity problems. Provide tier 3 support for Citrix-related incidents
Automation and Scripting
Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline endpoint management tasks
Automate software deployment, updates, and patch management processes to ensure consistency and reduce manual effort
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate documentation of endpoint configurations, and troubleshooting guides
Generate regular reports on endpoint performance, compliance, and security posture for management and stakeholders
Create and maintain accurate documentation as it relates to endpoint management process, Citrix configurations, procedures, and SOP
Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices for Citrix VDI operations and maintenance
Collaboration and Training
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure endpoint management aligns with business needs and objectives
Provide training and guidance to end-users and IT staff on best practices for endpoint usage and management
Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Citrix solutions with other infrastructure components, such as Active Directory, virtualization platforms, and management of Pure storage solutions to ensure high – performance
Provide training and knowledge transfer to IT staff and end-users on Citrix-related technologies and best practices
Collaborate with storage administrators to manage and optimize Pure Storage solutions for VDI, ensuring high-performance storage provisioning and management
Continuous Improvement
Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to endpoint management
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements to optimize endpoint management efficiency
Monitor and optimize Citrix environments to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to VDI, Citrix Cloud, Liquid ware, and Pure Storage to drive continuous improvement and innovation
Monitor application and endpoint performance and recommend hardware and software upgrades as needed
Vendor Management
Work with Citrix, MSFT, JAMF and other third-party vendors to troubleshoot issues, procure hardware/software, and stay informed about product updates and roadmaps
Change Management
Submit and enact changes through the Change Advisory Board process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and minimizing disruptions or outages
Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of SCCM, Azure, Intune and Microsoft 365
Support knowledge and experience with Imaging, Patching, and Baselines
Understanding of networking concepts, knowledge of DHCP and other tools
5 – 7 years of experience working in a very fast -paced and dynamic Global IT environment
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
Detail-oriented and results-driven
Excellent written and communication skills with strong customer service background
Desired technical working knowledge and certs
JAMF MDM
Citrix On-Prem administration
Microsoft certifications – Administering Intune or Configuration Manager
