Job Summary
We are seeking a Legal Counsel, Real Estate, Construction, Infrastructure & Energy to join our EMEA Legal team and support Equinix’s growing data centre portfolio across Germany and selected other EMEA jurisdictions. This role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys varied, interesting, and business‑critical work, and who wants to partner closely with stakeholders across Corporate Development, Real Estate, Design & Construction, Energy, and country leadership teams.

You will act as a trusted legal adviser to multiple parts of the business, providing strategic, solution‑oriented guidance in support of major real estate developments, expansions, and infrastructure projects.

You will join a highly regarded, collaborative, and supportive legal team that is deeply valued by the business.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on all aspects of real estate development and portfolio management, including land acquisition and data centre campus development, construction, management of real estate portfolio, energy matters such as grid connection matters

  • Work closely with stakeholders across multiple business functions including Corporate Development, Real Estate, Design & Construction, Energy, Country Managing Directors and local teams

  • Provide clear, commercial, and practical legal advice to support business objectives

  • Identify legal risks and propose pragmatic solutions to enable business growth.

  • Collaborate closely with legal colleagues responsible for other EMEA markets or other legal areas

  • Instruct and manage efficiently external counsel supporting our projects

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of legal processes, templates, and knowledge sharing

Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer with Proven years PQE

  • Experience from private practice, in‑house, or a mix of both

  • Expertise in real estate, construction, energy, or infrastructure projects; strength in two or more areas is preferred

  • Experience of the data centre industry is preferred but not essential. Willingness to learn new areas of work where required

  • Fluent German and English

  • Experience working across multiple jurisdictions is an advantage
