Job Summary

We are looking for a Principal Platform Engineer to join our highly skilled and globally distributed Platform Infrastructure Engineering team, designing solutions for monitoring, troubleshooting, and obtaining telemetry from our Equinix worldwide network. 
The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and developing robust architectures that handle large-scale data, establishing standards and guidance for engineering teams, and ensuring the quality of the platform. We are looking for someone with a passion for delivering efficient, automated, and high‑performing systems globally at scale, while following agile methodologies. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Architect multi‑region platform strategies across 70+ datacenters, 600+ on‑premises servers, and dozens of Kubernetes clusters. 

  • Drive infrastructure automation for configuration management of 2000+ VMs, ensuring consistency across distributed Equinix regions. 

  • Collaborate with global teams (AMER, EMEA, and APAC) on security, networking, and platform standards. 

  • Implement GitOps practices with ArgoCD for multi‑cluster deployments and drift management. 

  • Lead, coach, and mentor developers, network engineers, and platform engineers, helping to bridge collaboration between these areas. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and product stakeholders to design effective and scalable solutions. 

  • Work with technical project managers and product management teams to define and plan multiple projects. 

  • Participate in on‑call shifts with clear processes and support. 

 

Skills & Experience 

  • Strong experience with Kubernetes is required. 

  • Experience managing on‑premises Linux‑based server infrastructure at scale with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible. 

  • Experience working with distributed systems. 

  • Expertise with Proxmox and/or VMware. 

  • Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana. 

  • Deep proficiency in Linux systems. 

  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g.QEMU, KVM, LXC, Docker). 

  • Experience with networking and routing is desirable. 

  • Experience with secrets management processes and tooling, such as HashiCorp Vault. 

  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, GitHub Actions, Jenkins). 

  • Ability to mentor and coach team members.

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

Poland - Warsaw Office WAO : 295,000 - 487,000 PLN / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
