Role Description

The VP Digital Strategy and Business Operations is a pivotal role responsible for charting the strategic direction of the Digital and Innovation Office (DIO) and driving the execution of strategy via a hub and spoke model.

Reporting to the Digital COO, this leader high-impact leadership role and a primary advisor to the DCOO.  The VP serves as the architect of the DIO operating model, responsible for translating strategy into a cohesive, actionable enterprise imperatives.

Beyond managing daily operations, the VP leads a team of strategists and operators to solve DIO’s most complex structural challenges and ensure the organization remains agile during rapid scaling. Acts as the "connective tissue" across the entire organization, ensuring that capital, talent, and technology are deployed against the highest-leverage opportunities.

Responsibilities 

Enterprise Strategy & Governance 

• Develop the DIO strategy, converting it into a clear operational plan outlining the foundational processes and systems needed to translate it into DIO deliverables.

• Develop and communicate executive-level strategic narratives and operational health updates through value realization tracking.

• Manage resource and capital allocation for strategic priorities.

Organizational transformation and scalability

• Design and continuously refine the DIO operating model to improve decision making, speed, and cross functional alignment. 

• Establish a Strategy & Operations Center of Excellence to drive standards for project management, data governance, and operational rigor. 

• Partner with Change Management to ensure enterprise initiatives are deployed and adopted successfully. 

• Resolve cross functional friction and serve as the escalation point for inter-team dependencies.

•    Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing Strategy & Operations team, fostering a culture of rigorous analytical thinking and proactive problem-solving.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience

Experience:

Education: MBA from a top-tier institution or equivalent executive leadership experience.

Skills and Attributes

Strategic Intuition: The ability to see "around corners" and anticipate how macroeconomic trends will impact the company's specific niche.
Advanced Diplomacy: Expert-level ability to navigate complex internal politics and build consensus among strong-willed C-suite executives.
Operational Gravitas: A track record of "getting things done" in high-pressure environments where there is no clear playbook.
Systems Architecture: Mastery of how technology stacks (ERP, CRM, BI, Ai) integrate to drive organizational efficiency.
Mentally agility: able to move seamlessly between disruptive, long-range strategic planning, and support for current quarter initiatives at headquarters or within the regional organizations

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 243,000 - 365,000 CAD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
