Job Summary

Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Reviews performance data and measures, drawing attention to key trends and focus points, assisting departmental teams in addressing business needs by utilizing data to identify key information that will drive the overall effectiveness of the department in pursuit of operational excellence. Responsible for supporting the team with data analysis, data audits, reporting, and overall communications.


Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Explores data with multiple data sources, working with subject matter experts, to determine and provide key insights on trends and relationships between variables

  • Delivers ad hoc and pre-defined reports to stakeholder groups and answers questions pertaining to reports

  • Provides reports and data analysis for a wide variety of topics based on the team leader’s identified business requirements

  • Defines or contributes to analytics strategy

  • Creates reports leveraging insights from data exploration, prepared with visualizations, in formats such as Excel and PowerPoint

  • Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets. Builds recommendations to improve business unit effectiveness

  • Works to ensure global consistency in data and analytic methods

Communication

  • Engages across the organization to clarify requests and provide debriefs to explain data insights and drive action

  • Supports communication requirements of the leader, including findings, sharing of action items, and regular organization communications

  • Provides oversight and timely escalation of data and trends to departmental leaders and stakeholders

  • Creates or updates process documentation to support respective department standard duties and seeks approval from department heads where needed

  • Works to make data available and increase employees' capability to interpret and use data and analytics tools effectively

  • May partner with fellow Equinix team members to develop, assess, facilitate, or lead programs to support business objectives

Analytics Coaching

  • Coaches fellow Equinix team members and provides training on reports, tools, etc.

Data Audit and Cleansing

  • Contributes to periodic audits of data within business systems/platforms

  • Performs follow-up checks to ensure data quality and accuracy

  • Follows consistent reporting formats, guided by global centers of excellence. Delivers consistent reporting formats where predefined formats do not exist


Qualifications

  • 1+ years related experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or relevant engineering discipline preferred

  • Expertise in working with technical or financial teams, regularly reviewing data, and preparing presentations

  • Expertise in data aggregation and reporting systems such as PowerBI and SharePoint. 

  • Expertise in applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and SmartSheet

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new information systems and applications

  • Excellent communication skills

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - DC10 Washington DC : 77,000 - 115,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
