Job Summary

The OIRT Operations Technical Senior Specialist role focuses on completing complex technical documentation for Equinix strategic customers, requiring expertise in facilities engineering and data center construction. This new position supports Equinix Build Bolder strategy by leveraging deep knowledge of IBX facilities to help secure new business. 

 

The specialist must understand engineering policies, interpret technical diagrams and documents, collaborate cross-functionally across departments, document case completions, contribute to building out SharePoint resources, recommend procedural updates, meet service level objectives, and participate in kickoff and pre-qualification meetings.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Possess a deep understanding of engineering policies and procedures  
  • Accessing, reviewing and interpreting electrical, mechanical diagrams, Basis of Design (BOD), as-builts and other technical details listed in SharePoint and other repositories to answer questions, ensuring the final submission follows company standards 
  • Participate in kick-off meetings and pre-qualification sessions following the documented support processes and procedures 
  • Work cross-functionally to obtain information from other departments using a collaborative approach, e.g. Design, Site Operations, Security and engineering 
  • Assist with ensuring the team SharePoint page stays up to date with all cases and reference documents uploaded for each case to be utilized for future requests 
  • Recommend updates to operational procedures, technical files, and engineering documentation 
  • Meeting SLO’s - Possess the ability to self-govern and achieve expected deliverables for each case  
  • Support other site-specific customer requests as time allows  
  • Document case completion and closure using internal repositories to be utilized for future requests and reporting according to team policies and procedures 

 

Qualifications 

  • Candidate qualifications: Ideal candidates have 5–8+ years in facilities engineering or critical operations, 3–5+ years managing construction or infrastructure projects and preferably experience in mission-critical environments. Backgrounds in critical facilities engineering or construction project management, and degrees or licenses in engineering or related fields are preferred.  
  • Strong technical acumen, project leadership, and working independently on assigned requests are essential  
  • Proficiency or in-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, generators, UPS, chilled water plants, and fire systems 
  • Experience with ground-up builds, fit-outs, remodels, infrastructure upgrades, replacement projects and Data Center expansions (preferred – depending upon past roles) 
  • Advanced levels with Microsoft Office applications, Salesforce, VDC, Caplogix and other Equinix tools 

 

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone with a background in critical facilities engineering and or construction project management who is collaborative and enjoys being part of a team. 

 

Work environment: The position is a corporate persona with a hybrid work schedule and will be open to apply in select U.S. locations, offering an opportunity to contribute technical expertise in a fast-paced, global setting while collaborating across teams.

 

 

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

Poland - Warsaw Office WAO : 192,000 - 317,000 PLN / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
