Job Summary

The Vice President,Tax role is responsible for leading the company’s global tax strategy, compliance, planning, and risk management. This role ensures the organization meets all tax obligations while optimizing its tax position in alignment with corporate goals. The VP of Tax reports to the SVP Finance Services and collaborates closely with executive leadership, finance, legal, and external advisors.

 

Responsibilities

Strategic Tax Leadership

  • Design and implement comprehensive tax strategies aligned with the company’s REIT structure and business objectives, including optimized AFFO Tax and Dividend Strategy.​

  • Advise senior leadership on tax implications of strategic initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, JV structures, and new products and systems

  • Lead tax planning efforts to support operational efficiency and shareholder value

  • Evaluate and implement tax credits and incentives relevant to technology and data center operations

  • Address emerging tax issues related to AI, cloud infrastructure, and data center investments

  • Support international expansion and cross-border transactions with appropriate tax planning

 

Tax Compliance, Operations & Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate tax risks through proactive planning and audit readiness Review tax provisions and related memos for US GAAP purposes

  • Review and as needed manage external audits and financial disclosures

  • Oversee management of all aspects of tax compliance, including federal, state, local, and international filings

  • Oversee the maintenance of internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements

Leadership & Cross-functional Relations

  • Recruit, lead and develop a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with finance, legal, real estate, and operations teams to integrate tax considerations into business decisions

  • Manage relationships with external advisors, including tax consultants, legal counsel, and regulatory agencies

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, MS Tax and/or JD preferred.​

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive tax experience, including leadership roles in REITs and/or technology companies.​

  • Deep knowledge of corporate tax law, and international tax planning.​

  • Extensive experience in M&A, Financing, Joint Ventures, and other complex international transactions​

  • Experience in leading a large, international organization of professionals

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 248,000 - 372,000 USD / Annual

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 248,000 - 372,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
