Job Summary

As Implementation Manager you will have the responsibility of the delivery of customer projects and requirements into our five data centers. You will play a pivotal role in identifying, gathering and validating customers' order requirements as well as planning, developing and delivering the customer implementations for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, validates and documents customers' order requirements based on the general technical knowledge of the IBXs

  • Lead mid-level to large customer deployments

  • Supports & develops project implementation plans/task lists for customer deployments through collaboration with multi-functional teams, working on various project tasks and activities

  • Schedules and leads implementation meetings with customers and multi-functional groups

  • Monitors and ensures the timely closure of Operations activities with accurate information into various Equinix business systems

  • Collaborates with Sales, Customer Services and local Operations team to validate requirements against customer scope and Equinix process

  • Investigates and collaborates with multi-functional teams to solve problems during project implementation

  • Support to liaison with customers to facilitate smooth service delivery and ensure provisioned services meet and exceed customers' expectations

  • Serves as customers' point of contact for any customer concern of issues during project implementation

  • Focuses on the customer concerns, investigates and provides resolution to the issues

  • Communicates with customers, own team and multi-functional groups on project plans and implementation progress

  • Reviews basic business and/or technical processes (e.g. provisioning lead time, effectivity) within the IBX and finds opportunities for process improvements

  • Ensures Operations provisioning data is accurately input into Equinix business systems (i.e. Siebel Fulfilment)

  • Collaborates with own team and/or Regional Operations to investigate and perform physical audit tasks

  • Engages and works with third party vendors and suppliers for services and materials for implementing the customer deliveries

  • Handles the project management for third party vendors including handling Permit to Works and evaluating the work based on the requirements

  • Creates and tracks necessary Purchase Orders and provides necessary financial statistics of the implementation projects

Qualifications

  • Proven years of experience from a Service Delivery, Implementation or Project Management role including experience managing vendors, issuing RFP’s, and bid levelling.

  • Demonstrated prior success in leading, planning, executing and delivering projects in a timely manner.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and architectural diagrams.

  • Experienced using with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Strong business acumen, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to respond to orders and inquiries in a 24/7 environment, including expedites and negotiates, when applicable

  • Highly organized, with attention to detail and a dedication to resolving issues.

  • Able to plan, execute and manage high volumes of work.

  • Flexible and able to work through challenges related to unique and non-standard solutions.

  • Calm and effective under pressure. Able to remain professional in high stress situations.

  • Experience on cross connects (fiber/CAT-6 cabling)

  • Experience on power installations (Finland specific)

  • Experience managing relationships with vendors/suppliers.

  • Strong analysis, judgment, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Flexible and able to work through challenges related to unique and non-standard solutions.

  • Ability to use own car to travel between data centers within greater Helsinki area.

  • Business fluency in Finnish and English is a must.
