The Global Statutory Reporting team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to support the preparation of statutory financial statements and statistical returns across a diverse global portfolio of legal entities, including retail, xScale, joint venture and other business structures. Based in Bangalore, this role forms part of a globally connected team responsible for delivering high-quality, compliant and timely statutory reporting outputs across multiple jurisdictions.
The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter with strong accounting fundamentals, excellent attention to detail and a genuine interest in understanding how local statutory requirements interact with IFRS and US GAAP reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who enjoys technical accounting, structured reporting, continuous improvement and working across cultures, jurisdictions and reporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and draft statutory financial statements, including primary statements, notes and supporting schedules, in accordance with applicable local GAAP requirements.
Prepare, manage and submit statistical returns and other recurring regulatory reporting obligations for the selected country portfolio assigned, ensuring outputs are complete, accurate and aligned with local reporting requirements.
Develop a strong understanding of the legal entity portfolio, including retail, xScale, joint venture and other group entities, and apply that knowledge to ensure accurate and complete statutory reporting.
Analyse US GAAP, IFRS and local GAAP reporting differences, supporting the preparation and documentation of adjustments, reconciliations and disclosure requirements.
Partner closely with the country owners within the statutory reporting team, who retain responsibility for managing local audits, to gather inputs, resolve drafting and reporting queries, and support the timely completion of statutory reporting deliverables.
Perform analytical reviews of financial statements, trial balances and supporting schedules, identifying unusual movements and ensuring explanations are clear, accurate and well documented.
Maintain high-quality working papers, evidence and process documentation to support internal review, external audit and statutory filing requirements.
Plan and coordinate assigned work with the wider team, balancing requests from multiple country owners and communicating capacity, priorities and potential bottlenecks to support effective workload distribution.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including the use of AI, automation and digital tools to improve drafting efficiency, data quality, review workflows and knowledge management.
Take ownership of assigned deliverables, anticipate issues, escalate risks appropriately and demonstrate flexibility in supporting ad hoc statutory reporting projects and business changes.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualified or part-qualified accountant, or equivalent relevant experience in accounting, statutory reporting, financial reporting or audit.
4+ years of strong experience preparing or drafting statutory financial statements, ideally gained through Big 4 audit or accounting advisory experience, or in a comparable financial statement drafting role within a large, complex multinational organisation.
Strong accounting knowledge, with an interest in developing expertise across local GAAP frameworks, IFRS and US GAAP.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review financial information, investigate variances and present conclusions clearly.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools; experience with ERP systems and reporting platforms is desirable.
Curiosity and practical interest in AI-enabled productivity, automation, data quality and process improvement within finance and accounting processes.
Key Competencies
Ownership and initiative: Demonstrates a self-starting mindset, takes responsibility for deliverables and proactively follows through to completion.
Technical curiosity: Shows genuine interest in statutory reporting, local GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP and the practical application of accounting standards.
Accuracy and control focus: Maintains strong attention to detail and produces work that is audit-ready, well supported and compliant with reporting requirements.
Global collaboration: Works effectively with stakeholders across countries, functions and time zones, communicating clearly and professionally.
Continuous improvement mindset: Looks for opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve processes, including the responsible use of AI and automation.
Resilience and adaptability: Manages competing deadlines, responds positively to change and remains focused in a complex global reporting environment.
