Job Summary
The Infrastructure Lead will be responsible for coordination of team responsible for the 24/7 remote & on-site technical support during implementation and operation stages of transmission, power systems and OSP deliverables. The ideal candidate will also interface with facility vendors, landing parties, and work with the NOC team and generate applicable reports.
Responsibilities
In addition, the Infrastructure Lead will be responsible for the following:
Ensure routing maintenance on all network devices according to the agreed procedure/manual
Troubleshooting and resolution of 2nd/3rd level network related problems
Troubleshoot and resolve all Power systems, Transmission equipment and optic fiber faults within the severity level agreement (SLA)
Review and execute RPRs (re-provision requests) on ROADMs, power and fibre infrastructure with minimal supervision
Coordinate, monitor and inspection of jobs done in all 3rd party PoPs, to ensure conformity to the established company standard
Ensure prompt resolution of facility related issues in all our PoPs
Support all aspects of the network management process assuring requests, implementation, and problems are delivered as required with no impact
Deploy and document changes in accordance with problem and change management process
Participate in managing projects introduced by engineering team assuring full implementation and
documentation standards are adhered toComplete the projects’ objectives within timelines
Interpret, review and implement network designs from the NOC team.
Ensure that fibre Optic network documentation is always accurate and up to date
Manage the daily OSP reports including corrective and preventive operation activities
Supervise tasks related to remote hand assist for the landing parties for new circuit activation, upgrades or troubleshooting of faults
Ensure regular maintenance of all facilities – Generators, Rectifiers, UPS, Backup Batteries, HVAC, FM200 etc. at all designated PoPs
Carry out technical site surveys of all proposed POP locations and make recommendations
Ensure and maintain up-to-date equipment spares in the region
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in Electrical/Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
At least 8 years work experience post NYSC in the configuration, operations and maintenance of DWDM/OTN, optical fibre and power systems
A working knowledge of DWDM/OTN and must have undergone a basic training in fiber optics
Good understanding of telecommunications/engineering principles, transmission, power and passive systems
Basic knowledge of the Nigerian telecommunication market and/or experience working in a telecommunications environment
Ability to interpret topography, network design maps and AutoCAD Designs/and or Visio app
Structured cabling experience is a must
Ability to use Earth meter, Ethernet Analyzer, OTDR, and other signal testing tools/instrument and bandwidth test
Knowledge of vendor management system
Good oral and written communication skills
Time management skills
Teamwork abilities
Solid foundation in electronics theory
Demonstrated mastery of telecommunication industry standards, dimensioning transmission network element systems, ITU, and ANSI/ETSI etc.
Basic understanding of TCP/IP configuration
