Job Summary
Equinix is seeking to hire a Data Center Maintenance Technician to carry out full-scope maintenance of its facilities in Lisbon.
Responsibilities
Be responsible for maintaining facility infrastructure (both electrical and mechanical) and preparing and performing planned maintenance
Carry out site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms
Ensure preventive maintenance of site infrastructure (e.g. primary infrastructure) is executed, either directly or by vendors under your supervision
Develop the capability to perform repairs and corrective maintenance on equipment
Complete site logs and gather data for permits such as MOPs and scripts, which is a key part of the role
Support senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and act according to established protocols
Depending on your knowledge and experience, you may be asked to start responding to basic incidents
Complete basic work requests and circuit installations
Contribute to ongoing infrastructure projects and carry out small works (e.g. lighting upgrades, etc.)
Resolve customer issues through the Equinix ticketing system in line with SLA requirements
Report any health and safety issues to your line manager
Work on a rotating shift pattern from Monday to Sunday
Qualifications
Degree or vocational qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Previous experience in data centres or critical environments
Strong knowledge of critical infrastructure such as UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems
Self-motivated with a flexible approach
Availability to work shifts (days, nights, and weekends)
Ability to communicate clearly with customers
High-voltage switching experience (preferred)
Basic knowledge of Maximo, Power BI, MS Office (Word/Excel), or similar tools
