Job Summary
Responsible for receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices on a timely basis. Responsible for managing the company’s day- to-day vendor and expense Accounts Payable and Purchasing operations including problem resolution, purchasing cards, and purchase order issuance. Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments while continually working toward process improvements and best in class services.
Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices and payments for Japan, ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations 
- Perform 3-way matching and resolve discrepancies with vendors and stakeholders 
- Prepare timely, accurate vendor payments (domestic and cross-border) per Japan requirements 
- Efficiently manage and resolve supplier and business partner queries within SLA 
- Conduct supplier statement reconciliations and follow up on missing or erroneous items 
- Review and reconcile AP balances, monitor aging, and address outstanding issues 
- Support month-end closing (reconciliations, reporting) for Japan entities 
- Contribute to process improvements and standardization 
- Provide support for testing and projects as needed 
- Ensure compliance with SOX, tax, and other regulatory requirements 
- Demonstrate flexibility to support other APAC markets as business needs change 
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
- 5+ years’ AP experience, preferably in Shared Services or multinational Japan/APAC support 
- Hands-on experience in Japan AP operations 
- Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2/N1 or equivalent) and English 
- ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar) 
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills 
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities
