Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with at least 10+ years of extensive experience as an SQL Server Administrator. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in MS-SQL DBA advanced database administration. and high-availability solutions. A DBA must know how to install, configure, and maintain MS-SQL databases. A DBA must have strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation. This role is critical for ensuring our mission-critical databases’ optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Database Administration: Create new Microsoft SQL Server instances, configure and maintain database servers and processes, and Download and install SQL Server service packs and updates

• SQL Server Administrator: Expert MS-SQL DB administrator, configured and maintained SQL Security controls, Proactively monitored SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed processes

• Backup and Recovery: Manage database backup and recovery and disaster recovery planning

• High Availability and Scalability: Configure and manage high-availability solutions, including AlwaysOn availability groups and failover clustering; be well-versed with replication methodology, HA configuration, and failover in MS-SQL databases.

• Security Management: Develop and enforce comprehensive security policies for database access, encryption, and auditing; perform Security patches and upgrades

• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for complex database issues, including performance bottlenecks, corruption issues, and critical failures

• Capacity Planning and Growth: Analyze current and future database capacity requirements and plan for scalability to accommodate growth and evolving business needs

• Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation of database architectures, configurations, and processes. Provide regular reports on database performance and status

• Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and other IT stakeholders to support and enhance database-driven applications and services

• Automation: Excellent knowledge of Powershell scripting, Terraform, Ansible, Azure Arc, etc.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field

• Availability to work in the office twice a week

• Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are highly desirable

Experience & Technical Skills

• Minimum of 10+ years of strong experience as a SQL Server Administrator

• 5+ years of Proven track record in backup, recovery, and applying security Patches

• 4+ years of Proficiency in Managing and configuring High Availability and DR configurations

• 2+ years of Strong familiarity with Azure Arc and other monitoring and management tools like Service Now

• 5+ Years of Strong familiarity with experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) with working knowledge on Terraform

• It is good to have other admin skills like Cassandra and MongoDB with troubleshooting skills.
