Job Summary:
Has a substantial understanding of the job while working on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations. Focus is on moderately difficult tasks, using a substantial understanding of standard operating procedure. Supports the overall team.
Two Military Programs are available at Equinix within our Data Center Operations Organization:
1. Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance
Able to translate customer requirements into work results
Implementing, commissioning and setting up new facilities
Working with key business leaders to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability and reliability
Infrastructure maintenance
Performing site inspections, Carrying out sophisticated maintenance and repairs on control systems
Developing SOWs for routine control systems projects and running corrective maintenance
Completing site logs and data gathering for permits, such as MOPs and scripts
Completing basic work requests and circuit installations
A qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (BSc, apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 or BTEC level 3)
Knowledge of critical infrastructure equipment and tools such as UPS, generators, BMS (Building Management System), chillers and FSM (Fire Safety Management) is helpful
2. Data Center (Customer Relations) Technician
A knowledge of copper or fibre cabling
Experience or a passion for providing excellent customer service would be a huge bonus
A positive outlook, a hunger to learn, and a desire to develop and grow are essential
The ability to work well within a team
Installing customer equipment and cabinets
Supporting customer happiness through timely and precise order execution
Conducting carrier circuit testing
Installing, testing, and modifying cross-connections
Maintaining detailed written records of all activity
What we like to see
Aptitude, Attitude, and Potential
Technical Associates Degree, military-technical school, or civilian technical trade school completion
Good time management habits, ability to multi-task, to sustain focus on long tasks.
Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas.
The Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, collaboration, and creativity.
The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required for our constantly evolving environments.
