The Marketing Automation Architect ensures the stability, performance, and reliability of our marketing automation technology stack. This position leverages deep technical expertise, with a strong focus on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud suite of products, to bridge the gap between marketing needs and technical solutions. The role emphasizes maximizing the native capabilities of the Salesforce platform to solve business challenges without relying on external solutions.
This individual will contribute to maximizing the value of our marketing automation technology investments and be a key driver in shifting the team from reactive problem-solving to proactive system management.
Responsibilities
Lead End-to-End Salesforce Marketing Cloud Delivery
Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of our Marketing Automation Platforms. Utilize in-depth knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud to design and implement effective marketing automation solutions
Salesforce-Native Solution Development
Identify and implement solutions within the Salesforce ecosystem rather than external tools. Leverage the full capabilities of the Salesforce platform to solve business challenges creatively and efficiently
Client Partnership & Communication
We will act as the main point of contact for technology-related questions from our internal customers and strategic vendors, providing regular updates and managing expectations. Understand our business objectives and tailor our Marketing Automation solutions to meet their needs
Data Strategy & Technology Development
Work closely with the Data Strategy team to define data and integration requirements and develop effective customer journeys. Translate marketing strategies into technical requirements within Salesforce
Marketing Systems Analysis
Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to understand and translate their needs into system requirements across our Marketing Automation Platforms. Analyze existing marketing systems to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains
Technical Troubleshooting & Optimization
Investigate and diagnose system issues within Salesforce, working closely with technical teams to implement solutions. Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring problems. Identify opportunities to optimize system performance and efficiency within our platforms
Proactive System Monitoring:
Implement and maintain system monitoring tools and dashboards to track performance metrics, identify anomalies, and predict potential issues. Proactively analyze system logs and performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Develop and execute UAT plans for new system implementations, upgrades, and changes. Collaborate with stakeholders to define test cases, document results, and ensure systems meet business requirements
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for system configurations, monitoring procedures, and UAT processes. Contribute to a knowledge base for future reference and team learning
Qualifications
3+ years of experience working with Salesforce platforms, particularly Marketing Cloud and Sales Cloud
Strong ability to solve business problems within the Salesforce ecosystem rather than seeking external solutions
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist (MCAE) certification (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
Salesforce Administrator certification (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
Proven experience in system monitoring, performance optimization, and UAT
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
Understanding of marketing processes and technologies
In-depth knowledge of system monitoring tools and techniques
Experience with data analysis and interpretation
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills
Additional Salesforce certifications (Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, Data Cloud, Personalization and Intelligence products)
5+ years of experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Data Cloud, Salesforce Sales Cloud, and other Salesforce platforms
Experience with Salesforce scripting or programming languages (e.g., AMPscript, SSJS, APEX, SQL)
Experience with integrating different systems within the Salesforce ecosystem
Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks
Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
Experience with marketing automation and campaign management within Salesforce
