Technical Deployment Technician

Who are we?

We are seeking a motivated Technical Deployment Associate to join our team. You will need to apply and learn strong problem-solving techniques to support deployment projects and ensure customer satisfaction. This role will work closely with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to validate order requirements and assist in the technical deployment process, giving you the chance to develop relationships across the business! We are looking for someone who likes to be active and work with their hands, being heavily involved in both the installation, decommissioning and deinstallation of Fibre cabling.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Support:

• Validate customer order requirements in collaboration with the Customer Project Manager (CPM) and other stakeholders.
• Assist in managing the technical deployment alongside the Data Centre Manager.
• Support reinstall projects as needed.

Technical Knowledge Development:

• Gain technical knowledge of Data Centre operations and partner with senior Technical Deployment Managers (TDMs) to address internal issues.
• Follow detailed instructions from experienced TDMs to provide solutions for entry-level customers' non-standard order requirements.

Project Planning:

• Create simple task lists to document customer deployments and shadow senior team members in developing project implementation plans.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure timely ticket management and follow-up with operations and suppliers.

Implementation and Delivery:

• Assist in the planning, development, and delivery of customer implementations under close supervision.
• Support senior team members with inventory auditing and record-keeping during project implementation.

Cross-Functional Support:

• Collaborate with senior team members to investigate and resolve customer and cross-functional issues during project implementation.
• Maintain regular communication with CPMs, Data Center operations, and other functional teams throughout the implementation process.

Process Support and Optimization:

• Learn and adhere to business and technical processes within the Data Center identifying opportunities for improvement in basic processes.

Systems and Data Support:

• Develop knowledge of Equinix business systems and ensure accurate input of provisioning data.
• Assist with physical audit efforts as needed.

Vendor Support:

• Provide support for vendor-related tasks and assist in project management of supplemental vendor support for EIS and operations.

Qualifications:

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Eagerness to learn and develop technical knowledge within the Data Center environment.
• Familiarity with project management concepts is a plus.
