Job Description

Reporting to Equinix’s Chief Customer Revenue Officer, the SVP/ Head of Partner Program and Ecosystem role is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth through executing the strategic vision for partnerships and expansion of the company's partner ecosystem. This individual will lead a partner program team to define the partner program strategy, foster strong relationships with existing partners, and identify new partnership opportunities. The Head of the partner program and ecosystem will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product, customer exp., IT, Legal, and operations, to enable the partner experience end to end.

Main responsibilities and accountabilities of the role:

Strategic Leadership: 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive long-term strategy for the partner program that aligns with the company's overall objectives and growth targets and continuously adjusts to evolving business needs
  • Build the bridge between long-term strategy and day-to-day execution, ensuring the entire organization has the direction and resources to execute in the field successfully
  • Drive joint business planning with channel partners to identify growth opportunities and execute effective go-to-market strategies

Program Ownership:

  • Own and drive the partnership programs, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring alignment with business goals and partner needs
  • Hold responsibility and be accountable for delivering a revenue target for the partner organization
  • Build and own the broader partner ecosystem, including recruitment, tiering, responsibilities, and requirements across each partner type
  • Design competitive global channel incentives, including rebates, co-marketing programs, and strategic investments for high-priority partners
  • Oversee the development and management of partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefits and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Manage the budget allocated for partner-related activities, ensuring optimal resource utilization
  • Build and cascade global strategy of partner program to regional execution teams

Partner Engagement and Enablement: 

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with partners, channels, and key stakeholders
  • Act as a single point of ownership for the partner org and work with the rest of the organization to equip partners and strategic alliances with the necessary resources, tools, and training to effectively and independently sell and promote the company's products or services at scale

Cross-functional Collaboration: 

  • Collaborate with leaders across marketing, sales, customer experience, product, operations, finance, legal, and IT to enable a best-in-class partner organization and ensure seamless integration of partner strategies with overall business operations
  • Work closely with the IT team to define support needed for higher partner enablement, e.g., learning management systems, MDF tooling, inventory management, partner APIs 
  • Work closely with the product team to ensure the enablement of a self-sufficient partner product experience varying by partner type; ensure that partner requirements are met through strategic partner alliances; work with the product team to identify and integrate partners that can enhance our product offerings and deliver additional value to customers
  • Collaborate with marketing on global campaigns, content, and co-branding opportunities with partners

Performance Monitoring: 

  • Define and track metrics and KPIs to assess the partnership program’s performance and success and evolve strategies accordingly to maximize returns and prioritize future investments

Lead the integrated communications strategy of the organization

  • Develop and execute a cohesive, enterprise-wide communications strategy that reflects the organization’s purpose, values, and identity through consistent, strategic narratives with internal and external audiences.
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to the executive staff, offering proactive insights and strategic counsel on high impact communications matters.
  • Set the corporate narrative and tone and develop/maintain an infrastructure that ensures messaging consistency and governance.
  • Monitor and manage the company’s image and reputation.
  • Set clear decision-making rights, including SLAs and escalation pathways, and provide rigor and scalability in processes, templates, and tools.

Own and manage external communications

  • Oversee the development of comprehensive PR and media relations strategies that align with the organization's goals and enterprise brand.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
  • Oversee crisis communication protocols during critical situations to protect the organization's reputation.
  • Manage communications in partnership with public and government affairs, investor relations, and community relations.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality customer support communications, including operations communications that nurture ongoing customer relationships.

Activate internal communications and enterprise-wide employee engagement

  • Focus proactive and integrated communications strategies on driving employee behavior change and the adoption of enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Facilitate two-way communications with employees across all levels to foster a positive organizational culture.

Partner with Executive-level peers to co-create Functional and Regional communications agenda

  • Provide strategic direction for scalable communications strategies for functions and regions that align with global communications objectives, accounting for unique needs.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise-wide messaging, tone, and delivery protocols for strategic initiatives and campaigns.

Deliver innovative and impactful content and creative

  • Lead the integrated digital channels and social media strategy, ensuring global consistency and the quick response to trends.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to monitor social media, track emerging trends, and automate content creation.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Implement listening channels with consistent feedback loops, metrics, and data to understand stakeholder needs and inform plans.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Deep experience in partnership or channel management roles in data center, IT infrastructure, or technology industry
  • Extensive leadership experience developing and implementing long-term partner strategies that align with cross-functional teams, company objectives, and growth targets
  • Proven track record of driving revenue through strategic partnerships and ecosystem expansion
  • Significant experience in negotiating strategic partnership agreements and managing relationships with key partners
  • Experience in developing KPIs and metrics for tracking and reporting partnership performance to top management

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 292,000 - 438,000 USD / Annual

United States - Ashburn Office AEO; Seattle Office SES: 307,000 - 461,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
