Job Summary

Americas Internal and Executive Communications (US, Canada, LATAM) will be run by a person with a passion for employee engagement, developing integrated communications strategies, content creation and storytelling with an ability to proactively create and execute across a dynamic and fast-growing region. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications for the Americas, we are looking for a strategic program lead within the regional communications team.  

In this role, this person will develop and execute executive communications strategies that build an inspiring employee experience that supports our strong, vibrant culture and cultivates a clear understanding of Equinix’s mission, goals, strategy, and success. Elevate the voice of the Americas President on strategic topics aligned with Equinix’s vision, highlighting outcomes, value, and innovation enabled by Equinix. 

You will support external communications for the President of the Americas, including platform and thought leadership, content development with unique points-of-view, social media content, and more. You will partner across the communications team to support a wide range of external communications activities including media, analyst, investor relations, and other stakeholder activities.  

You will work across the organization to refine our internal storytelling efforts for the region and build a programmatic approach that delivers measurable impact. You will also serve as a partner to Americas regional executives, providing counsel and support for a broad range of high-profile communication efforts.  

Responsibilities

Executive Platform Development & Execution 

  • Design, build, and launch creative employee communications programs that drive awareness, understanding, and engagement, fostering a strong emotional connection across a diverse employee base

  • Develop and maintain the Regional President’s executive platform and core narratives

  • Serve as a master storyteller and exceptional writer, crafting compelling narratives and integrated campaigns that showcase the magic of Equinix and resonate deeply with employees across multiple markets

  • Partner with PR, AR, Social, and regional communications leaders to drive external engagement opportunities across priority audiences and themes

  • Oversee the Americas President’s social media presence (LinkedIn), including strategy development, content creation, and calendar management

  • Develop scripts for external speaking engagements such as customer advisory boards, press conferences, industry events, investor meetings, and community/government forums

Lead Internal Communications for the AMERS Region 

  • Plan and execute regional town halls and employee Q&A sessions, including presentation development, material preparation, logistics, and speaker coordination

  • Contribute to other key employee events and engagement vehicles – including employee town halls/meet. ups, The Hub, manager communications, Viva Engage, company meetings, and more

  • Create impactful messaging across channels, including intranet articles, Viva, executive emails, briefing documents, talking points, video scripts, and Q&A documents

  • Understand trends in internal communications tools, applications, channels, design and strategy

  • Oversee the measurement of internal communication programs in the AMERS and develop recommendations to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of employee communications and engagement

  • Support crisis and M&A internal communications for the region 

Cross-Functional Alignment and Execution 

  • Collaborate across functions to ensure alignment, consistency, and amplification of key regional priorities

  • Work closely with regional counterparts, including Chiefs of Staff and Presidents, to maintain strategic alignment and consistency

  • Engage actively with the broader Americas Communications team, HR, Marketing, Product and Sales to deliver integrated communications initiatives

  • Partner with WeAreEquinix and Equinix Employee Connection Network (EECN) leaders to develop strategies that promote Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) and sustainability initiatives across the region

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ communications experience – creating and implementing strategies and developing online content; ideally having worked with a Fortune 500 B2B technology companies

  • Demonstrated excellence in strategic storytelling, writing/editing, project management, strategic planning and execution, executive coaching, event management, crisis management/communications, change management, and multimedia communications

  • Experience managing content for web, video, social and print and development of content strategy

  • Strong planning and project management skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Digital acumen and knowledge of digital communications trends and standards/designs/best practices including user experience for web, email, mobile and social media

  • Experience with metrics gathering and reporting to measure communication performance, to optimize going forward and to understand audience behaviors

  • Experience with visual design and layout and working with creative resources is a plus

  • Crisis communications experience, as well as experience dealing with sensitive workforce and workplace issues

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related area preferred

  • Strong understanding of key technology and communication tools, including PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, SharePoint, SmartSheets, and Populo, as well as a willingness and ability to quickly embrace new tools

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 131,000 - 181,000 CAD / Annual

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 136,000 - 204,000 USD / Annual

United States - New York City Office NYO1 : 150,000 - 224,000 USD / Annual

United States - Ashburn Office AEO : 150,000 - 224,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
