Job Summary

The Manager, CapEx Finance Planning is responsible for building and maintaining the global capital expense planning framework for Equinix’s critical asset estate. This role ensures the enterprise has a clear, accurate, and forward-looking view of capital requirements by cataloguing global assets into industry-standard models and developing cost forecasts across 1, 2, 3, 5, and up to 20-year horizons.

 

This role bridges engineering insights with financial planning, developing capital models that integrate seamlessly into enterprise budget cycles. It also enables the professional digital representation of capital data, providing pivot tables, dashboards, and scenario models that allow the CAM team and finance partners to make informed investment decisions.

The Manager will serve as the financial architect for global capital planning within Critical Asset Management. They will translate complex asset data into cost models that can be readily consumed by finance, procurement, and operations teams. By building multi-year forecasts, creating standardized views of capital exposure, and producing interactive models in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools, the role ensures CAM provides actionable financial insights that guide billions of dollars in investment decisions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a global CapEx planning framework aligned to industry standards for asset lifecycle costing.

  • Catalog and normalize global critical asset values into a structured, consumable registry.

  • Build and maintain multi-year (1, 2, 3, 5, and up to 20-year) capital forecasts.

  • Integrate lifecycle, risk, and business assumptions into cost models to support enterprise investment strategy.

 

Planning, Delivery, and Execution

  • Develop pivot tables, dashboards, and digital analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.) to present financial insights.

  • Support enterprise financial planning cycles by aligning lifecycle forecasts with finance and procurement schedules.

  • Provide capital analysis to support prioritization and scenario planning at the asset, site, regional, and global levels.

  • Ensure data accuracy, governance, and continuous improvement of financial modeling practices.

 

Relationship and Communication

  • Act as the CAM finance liaison with global finance and procurement teams, ensuring alignment of assumptions and cost methodologies.

  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and managers across the enterprise to integrate technical and financial perspectives.

  • Provide clear, professional communication of complex financial models to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.

 

Managerial Excellence

  • Individual contributor role; operates as the finance specialist within the CAM team.

  • Supports the Director of Critical Asset Lifecycle Management by producing digital-ready outputs and financial insights for executive consumption.

  • Acts as a peer leader for financial acumen within the CAM organization.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate Analytical Thinking with 7–10 years of experience driving financial planning, capital budgeting, and cost modeling strategies.

  • Apply strong Financial Acumen to support decision-making in large-scale, global, or asset-intensive industries such as data centers, utilities, energy, and infrastructure.

  • Leverage advanced Digital & Data Skills with expertise in Excel, Power BI, and financial modeling—building pivot tables, dashboards, and multi-year forecasts that enable data-driven insights.

  • Deliver Execution Excellence by translating complex financial and asset data into clear, executive-ready outputs that influence strategic outcomes.

  • Foster Collaboration and Communication across cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with organizational goals.

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business; CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 139,000 - 209,000 CAD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
