What motivated your decision to join Equinix?
As a mechanical engineering student before joining Equinix, I have always been passionate about sustainability and the role that engineers play in reducing our environmental impact through technology. I was drawn to Equinix not only for its strong reputation as a global leader in digital infrastructure, but also for its bold commitment to achieving 100% climate neutrality by 2030. Given the resource-intensive nature of data centers, it’s impressive to see a global provider taking significant steps toward sustainability.
Can you share with us how was your career journey like in Equinix, and the growth opportunities you have been given?
My career journey at Equinix has been incredibly rewarding, filled with valuable learning experiences and opportunities for growth. I began as a Presales Associate, where I had the unique opportunity to shadow experts within the Global Technical Sales team. This gave me exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of both Sales Engineers and Global Solutions Architects, allowing me to learn about technical sales from different perspectives. I was quickly empowered to take ownership of my role, directly supporting the sales team in meaningful ways, such as assisting with solution design and customer engagements.
Equinix strongly emphasizes career development, and I’ve benefited from specialized internal learning programs tailored to my role. These, along with the mentorship from my seniors, have been instrumental in expanding my technical knowledge and enhancing my skill set. The support I’ve received has not only helped me grow in my current role but also opened doors to future opportunities within the company.
What kind of impact does Equinix have on the global scale, and what would you tell someone who is keen to join the GTST team?
Equinix is at the heart of the global digital landscape, providing the infrastructure that enables seamless connectivity between businesses, cloud providers, and networks worldwide. I’ve personally witnessed how the work we do helps companies innovate and transform their operations on a global scale. For example, I’ve been involved in projects that have enabled businesses to expand into new markets and optimize their digital infrastructure to not only reduce costs but also improve sustainability.
For anyone considering joining the GTST team, I would emphasize that it’s a unique opportunity to become a trusted advisor for customers, guiding them through complex technical landscapes and helping them make strategic decisions. As a Senior Sales Engineer, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients across various industries, including Banking and Financial Services, Manufacturing, and Healthcare. Each industry presents its own challenges—whether it’s ensuring compliance for financial institutions or even optimizing workflows for healthcare providers—but the reward comes from delivering solutions that drive tangible business results.
How is the culture of Equinix like and how does it echo within the GTST team?
Equinix has a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking culture, which is one of the key reasons why I enjoy working here. Everyone is always willing to share knowledge and insights, fostering strong collaboration across teams and helps us improve how we work continuously. Within the GTST team, this culture is even more pronounced through our focus on teamwork, innovation, and a shared passion for solving customer challenges. One of the things I appreciate most is how open everyone is to providing guidance and sharing their expertise. This has not only helped me grow in my role but also made our team stronger as a whole.
Anything you would like to share about your experience working at Equinix as your first organization?
While I do not have prior experience for comparison, Equinix has set an incredibly high standard for what a great workplace should be. One of the things that has really stood out to me is the company’s commitment to both business success and personal growth. From the start, I’ve been equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to contribute to the business’s success. I’m also continuously encouraged to upskill through internal and external courses, which has been invaluable in keeping me up-to-date with industry trends and best practices. What truly makes Equinix stand out is the emphasis on the importance of every individual’s role. It is not an overstatement when we say "it takes a village to close each deal". Our culture fosters strong relationships and teamwork, reminding us that collaboration is key to our success. This experience has not only shaped my professional journey, showing me the value of innovation and personal development, but has also inspired me to continue growing in the tech space and take on more responsibility as I advance in my career.
