Role Description
Strategic leader responsible for overseeing and managing Equinix’s data governance and data quality initiatives. Plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of the Equinix's data assets. Establishes and maintains data governance frameworks and policies, develops comprehensive data governance strategies aligned with business objectives, and implements data quality management processes.
Responsible for establishing and overseeing a Master Data Management (MDM) strategy to ensure consistency, accuracy, and accountability of core business data across systems Collaborates with business units and data owners to assign data stewards and lead a cross-functional data governance forum. Works closely with information security and legal teams to ensure data privacy and security measures are in place. Drives data governance education and awareness programs, evaluates and implements data governance tools and technologies, and stays updated with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy that aligns with the Equinix’s overall business objectives and ensures data is managed effectively across the enterprise. This includes Master Data Management (MDM) to ensure consistent and authoritative sources of key business data entities (e.g., customer, product, location).
Establish and maintain a robust data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards, to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Define and implement data quality management processes and methodologies to monitor, measure, and improve the quality of data across the organization.
Collaborate with business units and data owners to identify and assign data stewards responsible for data quality, data classification, and data lifecycle management.
Lead Core Data Management practice, ensuring management across the business of metadata, master data, and data integration.
Work closely with the infosec and legal teams to ensure data privacy and security measures are in place, including data access controls, data classification, and data retention policies.
Develop and deliver training programs and awareness campaigns to promote data governance best practices and ensure data literacy across the organization.
Data Governance Tools and Technologies: Evaluate, select, and implement data governance tools and technologies to support data quality management, metadata management, and data lineage tracking.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including executives, business leaders, IT teams, and external partners, to gain support and alignment for data governance and MDM initiatives.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data governance and data quality management to drive continuous improvement.
People Leadership
Manage the team’s performance by motivating, developing and coaching.
Drive the people development strategy, including enhancement of capabilities.
Provide leadership and guidance for escalations to other strategy and insights / cross-functional stakeholders.
Challenge existing managed processes based on industry best practice and trends to ensure Equinix is maintaining a best-in-class approach.

Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science or a related field.
Substantial / minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, data governance, analytics, or a related field.
Proven experience implementing and managing Master Data Management (MDM) programs in a complex, global enterprise environment.
Experience in data compliance, security and best practice.
Experience operating in a highly cross-functional, multinational business
Experience managing a team of data professionals in addition to contingent and outsourced labor. Proven experience in vendor management and managing third party vendors to drive KPIs.
Experience with multiple data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) and tools (e.g., ThoughtSpot, Tellius) preferred.
Prior experience in data center, cloud, telecommunications / IT industries desirable.
Skills and Attributes
Analytical thinker and problem solver with the ability to work under pressure and multitask while managing a team and driving process improvements.
Strong understanding of MDM principles, data modeling, and data lifecycle management.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; prior experience presenting to executive management.

Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships with key stakeholders as a trusted advisor.

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 200,000 - 300,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
