Role Summary
The Head of Digital for Global Operations is a strategic and outcome-focused Product and Engineering executive responsible for leading the vision, strategy, and delivery of end-to-end digital platform and solutions to support the data center operations function across all three regions. This is the organization responsible for building and operating our world-class data centers across all three regions.
With Equinix investing heavily in physical infrastructure, this role is central to maximizing the productivity of that team and creating a world-class experience for our engineers and customers with digital twins of our entire data center estate, automation of the full lifecycle of design, build, operate and optimized with end-to-end accountability for delivering modern, efficient, secure, and scalable platforms that enable operational excellence, infrastructure resilience, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness across our global footprint. Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Strategic partner to Global Operations organization, spanning Field Operations, Global Design and Construction, Energy (Power) and Operations Excellence, to define and execute a product and platform strategy that supports infrastructure modernization, performance optimization and global expansion
Translate infrastructure goals—such as uptime, energy efficiency, automation, and lifecycle management—into a product roadmap that enables scale, visibility, and operational control
Ensure alignment with enterprise-wide architecture, cybersecurity, sustainability, and cloud strategies
Product Ownership and Execution
Own the full product lifecycle for all digital solutions enabling infrastructure operations—including data center management platforms, asset tracking, monitoring and telemetry systems, capacity planning tools, and automation frameworks
Build and lead a high-performing product team to drive innovation, agile delivery, and measurable outcomes
Prioritize features and investments based on business value, ROI, and stakeholder input, ensuring transparency and alignment
Stakeholder Engagement and Change Leadership
Serve as the digital thought partner and liaison between operations function leaders and the Digital & Innovation team
Understand user needs across business units, functions, and geographies to ensure digital products drive measurable improvements in service delivery and operational effectiveness
Lead change management and user adoption strategies to ensure successful implementation and business value realization
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for automation, intelligent workflows, predictive analytics, and self-service capabilities to simplify processes and enhance decision-making
Foster innovation in areas such as workforce planning, financial forecasting, compliance tracking, and operational service delivery
Keep pace with emerging enterprise technologies and regulatory trends to ensure platforms remain compliant, modern, and resilient
People Leadership
Build, coach and expand the customer enablement digital team to support the business’ success
Qualifications
Essential skills, knowledge and experience
Strong intellect, ideally with a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced is highly advantageous
15+ years of experience in product management, digital transformation or technology leadership with at least 5 years in a senior technology leadership role
Deep understanding of global infrastructure operations, data center environments, and related operational systems and tools
Proven experience delivering digital solutions for mission-critical environments with high demands on uptime, security, and compliance
Familiarity with infrastructure management platforms, DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), automation tools, and real-time telemetry systems

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
California (Bay Area): $276,000 to $414,000 per year
California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $274,000 to $410,000 per year
Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $260,000 to $390,000 per year
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
