Job Summary
The Product Software team at Equinix builds next-generation software products and architecture for our product software and services offerings. We are seeking engineers to serve as a technical pillar for the organization. In this role, you will not only design and develop product software application but also define the architectural standards for consistent APIs and event-driven microservices. You will act as a bridge between product vision and technical execution, collaborating with engineering leaders and product managers to abstract complex enterprise workflows into scalable, resilient systems. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, product quality and secure code is essential
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Contribute to the technical strategy and execution for modular, event-driven, and scalable microservices supporting enterprise workflows
Design and implement reusable frameworks and self-service modules for service onboarding, configuration, and lifecycle management
Leverage AI tools to accelerate software design, testing, and operations - e.g., AI-assisted code reviews, test generation, and root cause analysis
Collaborate with senior architects and cross-functional teams on architecture decisions
Promote design practices that improve maintainability, observability, and operational excellence
Engineering Excellence
Lead by example—building secure, reliable, and observable systems that meet performance and scalability goals
Implement and advocate best practices for API-first development, CI/CD automation, and DevSecOps
Partner with product managers and peers to translate business intent into scalable technical solutions
Contribute to automation and AI-driven monitoring that improves reliability and accelerates problem resolution
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent
6+ years of full stack expertise in cloud-based application development on a microservice architecture with in-depth knowledge of Java
Experience coordinating cross cutting initiatives in a product organization and engaging with cross-functional Product Management and Engineering teams
Possess hands-on experience with engaging Product Managers to crystalize requirements into technology solutions for delivery
Hands-on experience with UI technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, ReactJS
Hands-on experience with frameworks and tools including Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, JPA, Junit, NodeJS, Express & SQL/NoSQL, Git
Possesses hands-on experience and technical expertise across AWS and GCP, with proficiency in technologies such as Ansible, Containers, Kubernetes, Temporal, and Terraform, along with observability tools including Grafana, AppDynamics, and PagerDuty
Basic understanding of Identity concepts such as SAML, JWT, OAuth, and microservices
Possesses knowledge of data modelling (RDBMS, XSD, JSON), Database/XML interaction, SQL, ORM, and hands-on experience with RDBMS databases like Postgres, Oracle and RDS
