Job Summary

The Product Software team at Equinix builds next-generation software products and architecture for our Equinix software platform and services offerings. You will build and lead the engineering organization, serving as a hands-on technical mentor and strategic leader for one more diverse, innovative, and driven product engineering team.  We are seeking a leader who can manage, mentor, and develop our engineering team. You leverage your experienced leadership & technical acumen to lead and support the team in delivering against specific goals/OKRs defined for the products.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for attracting, retaining, engaging, and developing their teams while also leading and inspiring them to achieve the goals of Equinix

• Aligns the team to company/product OKRs

• Performs quarterly performance reviews for the team 

• Setting and refining the engineering vision for this team and collaborating with product management to build best-in-class systems

• Set a strong engineering culture with a focus on quality, engineering fundamentals, and architecture to scale

• Partners with Product Owners, Scrum Leads, and Engineering Managers to define and promote operational excellence and ensure that teams deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable functionalities

• Drive roadmap creation and execution

 

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing teams of engineers and managers

• Previously managed 5+ engineers and have been responsible for their career growth

• Minimum of 8 years of full-stack expertise in cloud-based application development on a microservice architecture, with in-depth knowledge of Java

• Ability to attract, develop, and keep high-quality multi-disciplinary teams

• Have a track record of designing, developing, and implementing complex, low-latency web services with a large consumer base

• Experience leading large teams of engineers and driving large-scale, mission-critical projects and products to succeed in collaboration with product, design, and business teams

• Ability to attract, develop, and keep high-quality multi-disciplinary teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Good understanding on the usage of LLMs to develop business applications

• Experience with using AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot/ Cursor, etc
