Job Summary

Job Description
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) manages, administers, and coordinates the Department of Defense (DoD) or other industrial security program and other security activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. The FSO will process and review personnel security clearances and maintain all security documentation, files, and clearance and suitability rosters in accordance with government requirements. The FSO will have an understanding and experience of the 32 CFR Part 117/The NISPOM and general security requirements for DOD and other Federal agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct phone and in-person Security Pre-screens, documenting information and tracking of each screen results as well as reporting results to support teams

  • Understand and communicate all clearance verification information to appropriate members of Public Sector’s Program Management Office (PMO)

  • Demonstrate independent judgment, strong customer service, and communication skills in reviewing security clearance paperwork and visit authorization letters to various government agencies

  • This position will be required to populate the company database of clearance processing candidates, providing data as needed

  • Provide, track the progress of and submit completed security forms as well as follow-up with adjudication team for status updates daily or weekly as needed

  • This position will be responsible for all administrative functions for Security

  • Ability to interpret, administer and follow directives as identified in the 32 CFR Part 177/The National NISPOM

  • This role will maintain personnel and facility security clearances

  • Perform as the lead on annual government/DCSA inspections of the facility and associated security records to include the yearly self-inspections associated with the inspections and report findings to DCSA, supervisor, and Senior Management Official

  • Complete and submit Visitor requests and Visitor Authorization Letters via fax or through DISS (or Other)

  • Lead the day-to-day management of security for the programs at the local Data Center

  • Provide Operation Security support and implement customer security requirements

  • Interface with colleagues who are part of the National Information Security Team and various Public Sector groups, program employees, and subcontractors

  • Perform clearance processing for multiple government and contractor sites if applicable and can verify/confirm clearance/accesses of new hires and current employees
    Manage/maintain program Personnel Security Clearances (PCLs) and maintain security paperwork for all contracts to include but not limited to DD254s and PCL logs

  • Understand and communicate all clearance verification information to members of the Security Team
    Makes impartial judgments on the recommended processing times while reviewing confidential candidate material

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years Facility Security Officer (FSO)/Contractor Program Security Officer

  • Must be approved for a U.S. government – issued security clearance

  • Ability to conduct investigations objectively and professionally regarding sensitive issues

  • Knowledge of The NISPOM Rule, NISP guidance and DCSA background investigations is a plus

  • Experience working with Intelligence Community Directive 704 (ICD 704) and 705 requirements

  • Exceptional customer service and strong written communication skills

 

Facility Clearance (FCL)

  • Maintain a National Central Access Information Security System (NCAISS) web portal account in order to access the applications needed to manage everything associated with the FCL

  • Perform Self-Inspections as directed by the DCSA (Defense Counterintelligence Agency), ensuring readiness for any type of audit or security review that DCSA might perform for the FCL 

Personnel Security Clearances (PCLs)

  • Account access to the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), an application used to manage PCLs and all investigations related to collateral clearance management to include briefings, investigation status, incident reports, visit access requests, etc.

  • Process PCL investigations (requesting the PCL slot, preparing required paperwork and documentation, coordinating and/or conducting required indoctrination and termination briefings, providing security awareness trainings, reporting incidents and anything deemed as part of the reporting requirements for cleared personnel

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - SE4 Seattle : 114,000 - 170,000 USD / Annual

United States - LA3 Los Angeles : 114,000 - 170,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
