This position reports to the Executive Leader of Data Center Services and leads the long-term strategic direction and evolution of Equinix’s Global Managed Services business including day-to-day operations in partnership with the MD’s, globalization of the managed services portfolio of product and service, fostering a community for the Managed Services global community and positioning of Managed Services as an accelerator of Digital Services. Leads a diverse, dispersed, team of expert leaders who may or may not be direct reports. This role reports to the EVP & General Manager, Data Center Services and will lead a matrixed team of approximately 600 employees.  

Responsibilities

Managed Services Strategy & Transformation

  • Formulate a comprehensive and coordinated strategy to “globalize” the Managed Services function leveraging our global capabilities, customer experience, & partnerships
  • Lead transformation of the Managed Services function including harmonization of global products, defining future organization model, process, system and data.
  • Partner with the Managing Directors to stay connected on the day-to-day Managed Services business and drive cross-functional execution of initiatives.
  • Overall coordination of P&L, in partnership with Managing Directors, for a $220M+ global product line
  • Execute on a phased implementation plan with limited resources and minimal disruption to the business. 
  • Employ systems thinking, innovation, and automation design to drive efficiencies, scalability, and sustainability. Platform & Digital Architecture.
  • Lead development of a platform architecture and product technology roadmap that supports efficient creation of products using common platform microservices components and common digital experiences
  • Partner cross-functionally to align this roadmap to a global technology architecture strategy

Standardize & Grow

  • Lead and inspire a community of 600+ globally located technical experts representing all functions e.g., Sales, Sales Eng, Customer Success, Product, Architecture, 24x7 support, Network Management, etc.
  • Develop global operating best practices based upon detailed analysis of options and opportunities.
  • Align GTM motions across MS countries and Digital Services GTM.
  • Develop global Customer incident response process including initial response, resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
  • Provide strategic reviews and recommendations for additional activities to harmonize process, platforms, architecture, advise on new design concepts, efficiency optimization programs, R&D, etc.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external teams, including vendors, customers, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Maintain and improve Continual Improvement processes and culture.
  • Enhance and direct the reporting of key performance indicators for the function.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience at a high growth tech company or technology-focused enterprise in a sales, product, strategy, or operations leadership role.
  • Well-developed General Management/ P&L mindset and capabilities
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of Equinix business end to end with process mind set
  • Strong knowledge of Managed Services portfolio, and digital/data center competitive landscape
  • Record of building scaling capabilities within large organizations
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the design and execution of strategies and business plans/budgets
