Job Summary
We are seeking a Principal Information Data Modeler to define, design, and govern our enterprise‑wide information architecture. This role is a strategic technical leadership position responsible for establishing standards, driving semantic and structural consistency, and enabling data interoperability across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a recognized expert in data modeling and information architecture with deep experience in cloud‑native data platforms, modern data practices, and AI‑enabled ecosystems. This role directly advances our vision for a trusted, scalable, and intelligent data platform that powers analytics, operational insights, and innovation.
Responsibilities
Information Architecture & Data Modeling
Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models optimized for cloud platforms with an emphasis on scalability, performance, and adaptability
Develop and maintain canonical data models (CDM), shared taxonomies, and semantic layers for assigned business domains
Translate complex business needs into high‑quality data models supporting transactional, analytical, and AI/ML use cases
Partner with engineering teams to define data contracts, schema standards, API data patterns, and integration approaches ensuring consistency across distributed systems
Data Architecture Design
Contribute to domain‑specific data architecture blueprints aligned to enterprise data strategy and platform standards
Design and guide implementation of data lake, data warehouse, and lakehouse solutions using technologies such as GCP BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, or equivalent cloud services
Support AI/ML data readiness including feature representation, lineage, quality, and model‑to‑data integration patterns
Data Governance & Quality
Ensure data designs align with enterprise governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
Implement and enforce metadata standards, data quality rules, naming conventions, and lineage tracking in collaboration with data governance teams
Support data stewardship practices to maintain model integrity and ensure alignment with evolving business and regulatory needs
Collaboration, Influence & Leadership
Serve as a technical leader and SME for data modeling and information architecture across engineering, analytics, and business communities
Participate in architectural reviews, providing thought leadership and guidance on data design, integration patterns, and modeling best practices
Champion the adoption of enterprise data standards, tooling, and best practices within assigned domains
Mentor data engineers, modelers, and architects to elevate modeling and information architecture competencies across the organization
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field
10+ years of experience in data modeling, information architecture, or data engineering, with 2+ years at a principal or architecture‑level role
Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, and deep experience with SQL
Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize cloud‑native data architectures and ETL/ELT processes
Working knowledge of ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and experience supporting ML model deployment or MLOps workflows
Strong Expertise In
Data modeling methodologies: Relational (3NF), Dimensional (Kimball), Data Vault 2.0, hierarchical, NoSQL, and graph models
Cloud-native data platforms: GCP (BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow), AWS, or Azure equivalents
Semantic modeling and analytics frameworks: LookML (Looker Modeler), dbt, Dataform, or equivalent tools
Data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and quality frameworks
Solid Experience With
Designing and governing data contracts and API‑based schema definitions
Data quality frameworks, data stewardship, and metadata-driven design
Designing cloud‑native architectures balancing performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability
Collaborating across cross‑functional engineering and business teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing data mesh, data fabric, or modern lakehouse architectures
Hands‑on experience with modern data catalog, lineage, and observability tools
Familiarity with MLOps practices and AI/ML data lifecycle management

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 155,000 - 233,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
