Job Summary:
This new role of Global Physical Security Enablement Manager, xScale will be part of our Global Physical Security Centre of Excellence (CoE) but will be working very closely with and have a matrix line into the xScale Global Operations CoE with responsibility for:
providing subject matter expertise on physical security for our xScale joint ventures globally, which are joint ventures set up with investment partners to pursue our larger hyperscale deployments with certain nominated cloud service and technology providers.
planning, coordinating and executing the multi-faceted initiatives and activities related to the physical security requirements of our Global xScale program to ensure successful delivery of our deployments in line with customer expectations and operating norms.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
Global ownership of the xScale physical security program for Equinix.
Conducting contractual reviews of xScale customer physical security requirements to ensure consistency and alignment with standard Equinix physical security systems, design, policies, processes and procedures.
Ensuring any specific or by exception policies for xScale deployments are created, agreed and updated by working with relevant business stakeholders
Liaising with xScale customers and internal stakeholders on physical security exception requests, escalations and to align customer expectations to standard Equinix physical security practices.
Evaluating and communicating physical security requirements of xScale deployments including collaborating with Global and Regional Physical Security Enablement teams to ensure delivery of physical security requirements in line with customer contractual requirements, expectations, and timeframes.
Working with various teams and stakeholders (internal and external) engaging on design and customer RFP requirements for xScale sites.
Participating in internal security design reviews, identifying risks and improvement opportunities and working in conjunction with Country/Region Physical Security Enablement Teams to resolve design gaps within appropriate project timescales.
Recommends alterations to design, development, implementation, and analysis to improve quality of products, new technologies, procedures and/or efficiencies
Supporting, working and coordinating with other relevant Global stakeholders for physical security requests and escalations related to xScale deployments
Participating in regular management meetings providing reporting for xScale physical security activities, objectives, KPIs and other relevant metrics.
Leading and participating in process improvement initiatives and operational effectiveness projects for xScale deployments in collaboration with other regional and global stakeholders
Holds routine status meetings with various senior leadership teams on xScale physical security initiative and activities.
Assisting as required with completion of RFI/RFP/Pre-Sales/Audit Questionnaires and site audits related to xScale customers
Able to take the inputs from various teams on operational performance, physical security and KPIs to evaluate xScale model standards and drive change where required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience of working in a dynamic fast-paced business environment is essential
Educated to Degree level or equivalent is preferred
Relevant experience within IT/Telecoms and/or Data center operations is preferred
Strong senior management communication and relationship building skills, and experience (internal or external) working with relevant stakeholders and customers is essential
Knowledge of physical security and data center best practices
Strong attention to detail and strong project management skills
Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks and workload, and good administrative skills, with and ability to work within tight deadlines
Strong ability to take a pragmatic and commercial approach. Able to multi-task and work with limited supervision
Experience working with various cross-functional teams and across multi-cultural environments
Strong physical security background
Good command of English
IT proficiency applications such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Team and SharePoint
Able to work flexible hours
