The Director, Physical Security Enablement, EMEA is a strategic leader that oversees the regional Physical Security Enablement organization and Physical security program for EMEA. Anticipates high-impact physical security issues within the Operations and Security teams and leads the development of strategies for mitigation. Budgets and forecasts global EMEA operational security training and documentation needs utilizing expert industry knowledge and best practices. Collaborates with global and regional leaders in AMER and APAC to develop and implement the operational physical security strategy and systems roadmap.

 

Manages and Leads the EMEA IBX Operations and Security teams within the following areas:   

People Management

·       Provides leadership, guidance and manages the regional Security teams, including vendor management, performance results and strategy for improvement through individual and team meetings, as well as skip levels

·       Develops and motivates team members, drives results within the team, perform analysis of employee feedback and create/implement action plans to drive improved results

·       Directs team to work effectively and manages personnel details to include salaries, career growth, positioning, regular reviews, coaching and development

·       Directs and reviews workload, staffing and leverage innovation to scale for future growth

Business Systems

·       Possesses expert knowledge of security systems

·       Identifies faults and provides recommendations for new procedures and systems

·       Oversees the coordinates and management of Single Point of Failure (SPOF) and End of Life (EOL) reviews, including site physicals, assessments and remediation activities

·       Responsible for vendor and manufacture relationships, escalation of systems errors and failures within the region

·       Manages department resources and budget

·       Contributes and Ssets key performance indicator goals at a global and regional level and oversees regional global Operations Security and Compliance

Project Management

·       Develops and leads EMEA global plans, and contributes to global initiatives

·       Oversees security directs who coordinates the completion of security projects, deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors progress of project

·       Leads cross-functional, regional global teams in developing and deploying implementation strategies for high-impact programs (e.g., regional upgrades and global access management)

·       Reviews and provides guidance as needed on project scheduling, budgeting, and administrative tasks

Process

·       Oversees physical security program and strategy, and is a key contributor to regional and global physical security initiatives, business continuity process rollouts, and process development

·       Collaborates on the strategic global development of the IBX operational strategy with other global, cross-functional thought leaders, and leads implementation of strategy for the region

Design Engineering

·       Recommends and Leads contributes to new global design methods and standards for new IBX design engineering efforts

·       Leads and provides guidance to other employees within the job family

·       Leads recommendations for alterations to design, development, implementation and analysis to improve quality of products, new technologies, procedures, and/or efficiencies

·       Provides drawing reviews of both internal and cross-functional designs

Training

·       Leads and champions recommendations for best practices

·       Seen as an expert in industry-related knowledge

·       Leads the development of industry knowledge and best security practices within the business

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·       Extensive knowledge of security systems including: Access Control, CCTV, Telecommunications and Internet Technologies required.

·       Must be a highly organized, self-motivated and positive team player with demonstrated ability to provide effective oversight and systems management, development and follow-up to prompt closure on security initiatives, plans and solutions.

·       Must be able to work independently, make timely decisions, and manage multiple projects and priorities.

·       Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities needed to provide guidance and direction on various operational projects.

·       Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.

Required to travel across all Equinix operating locations for up to several weeks at a time as-needed for support, site assessments and training.

Education / Certifications / Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Management, Business, or a related discipline preferred  

·       Current certification with a major security system manufacturer; preferably Symmetry, Software House, UTC Fire & Security, Gallagher, Honeywell or Loronix.   

·       Extensive experience with datacenter skills such as installing/moving equipment and large-scale cabling projects.
