About the role
Provide Technical Support services including: Data Centre operations, equipment maintenance and service provisioning.
Support Disaster Recovery drills and invocations.
Install and de-install of customer cross-connections.
Perform Smart Hands and tape backup Services.
Reporting facility alarm.
Incident handling, problem troubleshooting and escalation to upper tier.
Supervise vendors for work within data centre premises.
Maintain accurate records, document all problems, and prepare reports.
Exhibit quality workmanship on all work.
Maintain the cleanliness of IBX data centre.
Diploma or Certificate in Telecommunication or IT related area.
High level computer skills including use of Microsoft Office suite of products
Excellent communications skills, both advanced written and verbal English skills
Strong Customer Service Skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential
Has a ‘can do’ attitude and approach to work
Be able to follow processes efficiently and effectively
Strong attention to detail and customer service focus
Ability to learn fast and work autonomously
May be required to lift 16kg unassisted, climb ladders and work with various equipment including hand tools (side cutters, screw drivers), pallet jack and pedestrian forklift
24x7 shift duty and emergency scheduling of work is required
